Get a unique perspective on the majestic Humpbacks, Fin, Sperm whales and/or Orca's as they feed in the herring-rich fjords of the Arctic. With purpose made hybrid-electric boats for whale watching, we minimise disturbance to nature and whales.
Leaving Tromsø in the morning, we head to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. On the way you can take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges and 2 decks.
We use a hybrid engine to reach the whale’s feeding grounds, and as we near the whales, we switch to a silent electric engine that allows us to get closer without disturbing them.
Please note that the duration of the trip depends on the whales’ location. It takes up to 3.5 hours to get to the whales and can therefore range from 8-9 hours.
Please note that whale sightings are not guaranteed.

Fantastic trip and amazing crew. Totally recommended but spotting real whales is based on pure luck so if you enjoy learning whale knowledge then this trip is invaluable.

The crew was excellent and attentive, especially around safety. They provided thorough and interesting information about geography (the landscape lit by an almost full moon was stunning) and specific whales in the area. We were able to see a pod of Orcas, a couple of humpbacks and a fin whale. The crew were awesome about pointing out where the whales were located. We even had a bonus - a brief aurora visit on our way back to port. Our main disappointment was our inability to take the whale photographs we wanted. The deck was icy, the whales were a bit too far away and the waves against the ship made it difficult to stand still long enough to get good pictures. None of these things were in control of the crew. Managing your expectations can be challenging.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Booking process was smooth and queries answered promptly. Day of the trip staff were friendly, informative and efficient. Due to the chances our 8.15 trip on 13th December may not be able to reach the whale feeding ground we were advised we had 2 choices: stay on the boat and receive a partial refund if they had to turn around or disembark and have a full refund / rebook for another day. We chose to take a chance and were rewarded with wonderful views from the boat windows of the scenery and several different types of whales. All presentations by the staff were interesting and informative and presented well. We pre-ordered food - soup and bread for lunch and a pastry with a hot drink. Food was excellent and even though only one soup type as a vegetarian I was delighted to find the soup was vegetarian. Highly recommend the trip but suggest if you even faintly think you may be seasick take seasick tablets before the trip. I was fine until the return trip when I could not see the waves and they were quite choppy. Highly recommend this company especially as they have electric boats and are very respectful of the whales and not disturbing them.

You should know that the tour is very hard. The sea is most of the time very rough and the sailing is very long. We were out almost 10 hours and we were sailing all the way to Skjervoy and more. In december is a total darkness 6 of 10 hours when you are on the boat, so you can’t see anything. Other 3 hours is a twilight. We didn’t see anything on the tour. It’s nature, I understand. But still I would like to know how many days and tours in December they see some whales or orcas?! On our boat it was also very hard for many tourists because their stomach couldn’t handle the rough ocean’s conditions. They were sleeping and throwing all the time. Many of them with seasickness. 😟 So, I came to Tromso because of this tour and we were very disappointed. The big plus was two ladies who were working as a waitress on boat - they were super friendly, kind and very helpful. We brought our own food. In boat restaurant we bought only cinamon rolls, coffee and tea and it was very delicious. Over all - I think the tour is a big tourist scam! And I didn’t expect this for Norweigans. I am very experienced traveler. I traveled in last 20 years all over the world in more than 70 countries and many of them few times so I know what I should get for my money.

Never written a review on here before because never felt the need to. Brim explorer boat looked the part and me and my family were excited to get on board in the search of the whales. I had a 7 year old and a 10 year old with me and my partner. The sea's were extremely rough as we got to open water ( which we were warned about ) and %75 of the tourist on the boat were throwing up outside of the boat and inside of the boat. It was genuinely like a scene from a apocalypse movie. Due to the amount of people that were being sick they told us the boat had changed course to try and make it a bit easier for all the people that were ill, and im sure that this hindered are chances of seeing the whales. Not one whale see ( i understand its nature and its not guaranteed) but the whales have repeatedly been seen in Skèrvőy and we barely went near it becsuse of the waves . People were warned and people were told its going to be rough . I will.be seeking a full refund I think to change coarse for some people being sick to hinder the chances of a trip that cost £500 is not on

This was an amazing experience! The boat was modern and comfortable, and the crew on board were excellent. They taught us about the different types of whales we might see and how to spot them. When we arrived at the whale watching area, we saw Humpback Whales and then a large pod of Orca. Our 5 year old daughter was also able to spot them and loved seeing some of her favourite animals in the wild - as did we! On the way back, the crew taught us about the Arctic and how the landscape/islands were formed. They were also extremely helpful and great to get along with. Overall, I couldn’t rate this tour highly enough. Seeing the whales in their natural habitat was an amazing experience and the crews knowledge and insight was excellent.

It’s great but it’s a very long day and we didn’t see any whales. Not the tour operators fault of course but best to be mindful of this. But we enjoyed the Artic scenery.

The trip was great and well worth it. We went in December, starting our sailing before light, cruising for a few hours, soaking in belated fjord views and enjoying the warmth of the boat. We got lessons on the fjords and toes of whales we were hoping to see. We were fortunate enough to have good weather and to see both orcas and humpbacks

Tobias and Eli were amazing and knowledgeable about the whales and the history of Norway. We went on the shortest day of the year but they still tried their best to get us to see whales and everyone on board was able to see fin whales and humpback whales and then were able to debrief and learn about those specific whale types on the ride back to tromso

The trip was fantastic. We were so happy to be able to see Orcas! It was a very full cruise but everyone found a seat. There was lots of great information shared, especially on the trip back to Tromso when the weather was not so great. Unfortunately the boat we travelled on was one of the first to leave Tromso but one of the last to arrive at the whale area, & back to port, which meant we didn’t have a lot of time with the Orca before the weather turned. It did also mean we got to spend more time in this amazing environment!
