Snorkel in between two continents at one of the top diving sites in the planet! Silfra is located in Iceland’s National Park, Thingvellir. It is a fissure that was formed by the divergent tectonic drift of the Eurasian and North American plates.
What makes Silfra exceptionally unique is not only its geological significance, but it is also world-renowned for its crystal clear, fresh glacial water. This is constantly fed with a steady stream of 100m+ visibility drinkable water that creates the unique bio-diversity in this fissure.
We are the only operator in Silfra offering both drysuit and wetsuit together. This means multiple people in your group can book their preferred option.
We include photos as standard so you don't have the hassle of handling your own camera, but you are welcome to bring one! Our guides have all been doing this for years and know the best spots to take pictures of you and your group.

Meet us at Thingvellir National Park, about 50 km from Reykjavik. Once you have met your PADI divemaster certified guide, he or she will be going through the procedure and safety measures of your tour. After, you will put on your gear and head to an exotic underwater canyon/fissure, Silfra, created as the continental plates drift apart at a rate of about 2 cm per year. Silfra is a freshwater fissure where you can see at least 100 meters ahead of you. The water here is so clear and pristine it feels like flying. The approximate time in the water is around 40 minutes. Before leaving you'll have a delicious hot chocolate prepared by your guide for the day. We do have the option to pre-book a wetsuit on another listing. Booking a wetsuit is recommended for people who want to have the chance to dive down or who are scuba divers without the required certifications for the scuba dive. For the wetsuit it is recommended that you are a confident swimmer, if you are not then the drysuit is best for you. To cater to everyone's desires we are the only company that has wetsuits and drysuits allowing them to be in the same group.

Amazing experience enjoyed by five friends, very professional set up felt safe at all times. The diving was unreal the clearness of the water and visibility was awesome such a surreal experience. Didn't feel cold or get wet. We can't wait to return to try it in a wetsuit. Big thanks to Kaya our guide you were brilliant ☺️

The most amazing experience ever! Couldn’t recommend going with this company enough. Everything from start to finish was clearly explained and made you feel at ease, I have never snorkelled before but this was a great first experience. I had the guide Gretar, who was lovely and very knowledgeable of Iceland and the local area! I was expecting only to have 1 photo from the whole experience but left with an album full, which topped off the experience. They split the main group into smaller groups and I ended up going into the water as a group of 4. I would recommend this experience 100% if you are thinking about going, definitely worth the money. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Magical experience, not the most comfortable but this isn’t an easy activity. It’s a once in a lifetime. Anil was with us every step of the way and we were looked after extremely well.

I’m so happy we had this experience. Kaya was organized, enthusiastic, kind and knowledgeable. She got us ready physically and mentally (the dry suit and straps are extremely tight around the neck and wrists to prevent leakage into the suit) and she kept us safe! Being in that water is like another world. Beautiful, clear and crisp. It was cold getting ready but not bad once we got in the water. The dry suit did its job for the most part. If you can’t handle the constriction around your neck and wrists then this will be challenging. It was difficult for me but I powered through and ecstatic I did. Highly recommend Adventure Vikings for this.

The water is cold, but the guide made the experience pleasant and was very accommodating. It is an experience of a lifetime to see.

I wouldn’t have written this review if it was just based on the dive and not the company itself. I wasn’t impressed with the dive as much as I thought I would be. I have done snorkeling in bahamas, aruba, portugal etc…. I think those places have the same if not better views, and they are warm... But my 2 point rating isn’t based on this. The reason I am rating this experience as poor is because We arrived early / on time and we got all suited up ready to go. We were broken up into 2 groups ( 3 people in our party and then everyone else in another group). We picked and planned this excursion before going to the airport. We told our guide and we planned for us to be on time. After being dressed and ready to go, another group of girls approaches and they are clearly late. (20 min late, we are ready to go in the water!!!) They end up joining our group….. I made a comment to my party about how now we had to wait for these idiots to get dressed (do not underestimate the time, it takes awhile) and then we would get our time cut in the water short because we had to go to the airport. (not fair!! when we had planned on the original time frame) The other tour guide rudely interjected what I was saying to my party and said well we give a 50 minute grace period! FIFTY MINUTES. So you’re telling me I now have to stand here all suited up in these uncomfortable wet suits for these people that so ignorantly arrive 20 min late?! I was hoping they would accommodate us and put us in the other group and make the group that came in late just start late. But that didn’t happen. I think a 50 minute late arrival is crazy if they had arrived 5 minutes later we would have been IN the water. Especially when the instructions say arrive 15 minutes early! And you arrive 20 min late (35 min)…. Sounds like this policy should be reevaluated. I understand that it’s not ideal to cancel them but I think we could have been accommodated a bit more. Our experience was rushed and we were cut short on the briefing and history . It was disheartening to watch the group ahead of us get the “full experience” which we deserved too.

Awesome experience for a girls trip. Staff is friendly and ensure safety is important! Shout out to Piotr for saving my friend’s life - she started panicking with the mask on and he saw her right away, grabbed her and helped her calm down and breath properly with the mask on. Highly recommend ! Fun group of operators.
