  • Gettysburg Trip

Our driver/guide was Amy and she was very prompt and professional in all aspects of this excursion to the famous ACW battlefield park, including the pickup and the drive to/from DC and Gettysburg. She was able to provide helpful travel logistics information and the licensed guide provided to us at the NPS Gettysburg Visitor Center, David, had a plethora of knowledge that he shared with us concerning the strategy and tactics used by the commanders on both sides as well as the background history and politics concerning the Civil War. The guided tour by David was for two hours and we saw/stopped at several points of significance around the battlefield including, McPherson Ridge, Seminary Ridge, Pickett’s Charge, Little Round Top, Cemetery Ridge, Culp’s Hill and the town of Gettysburg itself. Our tour was by minivan and there was one other couple with us, so just 4 people, and it felt like a semi-private tour experience. I would highly recommend this tour excursion, especially if you have Amy and/or David as your driver/guides.

Galen was a good driver to get us from DC to Gettysburg and he pointed things out along the way. The film, museum, and cyclorama were all interesting and well done. I could have used more time in the museum because there was so much to see and learn about. When we got on the two hour bus tour, our guide Jim was incredible! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Battle of Gettysburg. His storytelling kept us all engaged and hanging on every word. I would highly recommend this tour!

  • Would certainly recommend it

This tour includes a trip to and from Gettysburg (it’s about 1 hour 45 minutes), a museum trip with film showing, a view of the cyclorama painting (which is worth the visit all on its own), a trip into Gettysburg for lunch, and then a coach tour of the battlefield led by a very experience guide. I would thoroughly recommend it.

  • Gettysburg - worth the effort!

Fascinating tour of the battlefield locations and the museum. Superb Gettyburg guide called Bobby and lovely driver there and back to DC called Amy. Only thing I would change (and then I would give the tour 5 stars) is to do the museum in the morning and the battlefield tour after lunch. You would then have seen the film and the 360 degree painting which would help when on the battlefield.

Everything ran on time from pick-up until our return to DC. The docent led car tour through the Gettysburg battlefield was enlightening and packed with details. The visitor’s center was very nice. We needed more time for the museum.
