Everything ran on time from pick-up until our return to DC. The docent led car tour through the Gettysburg battlefield was enlightening and packed with details. The visitor’s center was very nice. We needed more time for the museum.

Our driver Amy was very good and told us what to expect. We spent some time on the visitors centre watching the film and then we had Les as our battlefield guide. He was excellent, really knew his stuff.

Never having been to Gettysburg (but having read much about this historic event, and seeing including Ken Burns' excellent documentary from the 1990s), I was looking forward to this tour. My expectations were greatly surpassed. Our tour guide, Galen, was excellent as well.

Amy, our driver was wonderful. She told us things to expect and things to look for. She was well versed in the region. Our tour guide from the Gettysburg National Museum, Gary, that rode through the park with us was the best. He told the story of the battle in such an interesting way. He answered our questions and really knew his subject matter. We thought we might drive to Gettysburg and visit the battlefield on our own. So glad we took this tour instead. Worth it!

Taking a group tour from Washington DC to visit Gettysburg was the ideal method for my friends and I to experience this important historical sight. We are fortunate to have a driver/guide, Galen, who went out of his way to make the trip special. From ensuring a comfortable ride to helping us understand the history of Gettysburg before we arrived, Galen made the trip special. The tour itself leaves you plenty of time to visit the spectacular visitor center with artifacts from Gettysburg and a Cyclorama (large panoramic painting of the battle) along with a ranger-led vehicle tour of the battle grounds. Would highly recommend this tour for those who only have time for a day trip from Washington DC.
