This is a must when visiting Punta Cana! Especially this tour! From start to finish this tour was incredible. We got to the island before everyone which really made our experience! Later on in the day you could just see the heard of big party boats coming, when we had already been there for a few hours. The tour guide took so many photos for us and airdropped them at the end of the trip which was a such a fun touch. Honestly could not recommend this more! It is a very long day so be prepared but it was fun nonetheless! thank you so much! xxx

What a great excursion! Melvin was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge. I appreciated the early start to beat the crowds. This tour was a little more expensive than others, but it was worth it (plus the company gives back to the community in Manojuan). The food was great. The vibes were chill. The captain and his first mate were helpful and accommodating. Even the other guests were great! If you really want to see Saona island and learn about the history and culture there, book this excursion.

BOOK IT - if you want to see saona island and don’t want to be squashed onto a party boat then this is the trip for you - we started early (0600 pickup) but we had our own small bus our own small boat (only 12 people in our group (max 14)) but Melvin got us to the islands first and had the beaches to ourselves before the masses arrived - so get there early and take photos early because the beaches soon fill up when the party boats arrive - we had a great history lesson of the island on route to the marina - then a nice breakfast on the turtle island and a trip to the sanctuary - then to the main island (amazing!) and as I said we were first to both of these islands, plenty of time for snorkeling / photos / relaxing in amazing blue waters….then lunch on the beach…. then onto the mangroves and saw a turtle come up right next to our small boat… then into the natural pools (again only boat there) and had photos with starfish then after a while other boats arrived…. Then back to the marina after stopping over a reef for more snorkelling - we had Melvin as a guide and he is passionate about the dom republic and is an amazing guide - he took lots and lots of photos of us all with his camera in ans out of the ocean and then on the bus ride back “air dropped” them back to us for free (extra service!! Amazing!!) it was THE BEST DAY we had on our 14 day holiday and we wish we had done it twice!! - if you don’t want a cheap party boat this excursion is very good value for money and don’t delay in booking

What an incredible experience! The team picked us up from our hotel right on time. At first, I thought the pickup was a bit early, but later I understood why—it gave us a head start and allowed us to enjoy the island before the crowds arrived. The drive from Punta Cana to Bayahibe, where the boat departs, was about an hour. It didn’t feel long thanks to a quick stop for snacks, drinks, and a bathroom break. Throughout the ride, Melvin, our tour operator and excursion manager, kept us entertained and informed with the history and culture of the Dominican Republic. Once at the port, we boarded a speedboat that took us in about 35 minutes to Mano Juan, the only inhabited area of Isla Saona. There we met locals and learned about the inspiring conservation work of Negro, who protects sea turtle nests on the beach. From there, we continued to Playa Abanico, the island’s most famous beach. Thanks to the early start, we arrived before other tourists and had our own private area with lounge chairs and a dedicated lunch pavilion—all beautifully prepared just for our group. Another highlight was Melvin himself—he went above and beyond by taking photos of everyone throughout the day and sharing them afterwards at no extra cost. Such a thoughtful detail! In the afternoon, we explored mangroves and relaxed in shallow waters full of starfish, before finishing the tour with snorkeling near a coral reef, swimming among colorful fish. Overall, this tour exceeded every expectation. From start to finish, it was seamless, personal, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for a 5-star Isla Saona experience, don’t hesitate—this is the one!
