Amazing experience. Melvin was amazing. This tour worth every penny. The only downside was the boat ride (I am not a fan of boats), but that’s on me. I chose to go anyway. Don’t miss it!

The experience we had in Isla Saona with Melvin and Henry was simply extraordinary. From the very beginning, it was clear that he is someone truly committed to time, someone who genuinely values punctuality, and that alone made a huge difference in how smoothly our entire day unfolded. He also has a deep knowledge of his country’s history, and he shares it in such an interesting and natural way that you find yourself listening without even noticing the time go by. Something that truly caught my attention was that, even though he already knows so much, he carried a history book with him. During the free moments, we would see him reading and studying, looking for more information to share deeper and more meaningful insights. That level of dedication says a lot about his passion and the respect he has for his work. The tour itself was incredibly enriching. We had the chance to see starfish, go snorkeling, and each stop at the Saona Island felt almost private. He knows the schedules very well and understands exactly when crowd levels are lowest, which made the entire experience much more intimate and special for our small group. Another highlight was learning about the history of the turtles and visiting the turtle sanctuary. It was fascinating to hear how the species is protected, to understand their life cycle, and to see the commitment behind their conservation. In summary, it was a day filled with learning, calmness, and natural beauty, guided by someone who truly knows what he’s doing, loves what he does, and continues studying to become even better. Highly recommended.

Amazing trip, truly worth it. We were at the W, not too many providers had pickup. Was also very skeptical of other provider reviews of late pickups. Melvin and crew were great, punctual, attentive, guided us on the dos and donts with vendors. Very informative and u really do enjoy the benefits of a small group. get to places early and enjoy the place with out crowds and get to experience multiple aspects… would highly recommend.

What a fantastic experience! Everything was well planned right from the first moment to the end! Pick up was on time and it was definitely worth the early morning. We were lucky enough to visit the little town and the turtle sanctuary. I've spoken to many from DR and they have not even been able to experience the town! Then we went to vist the beautiful beach and we had a blast! Unlimited drinks, beautiful weather and a delicious lunch cooked right there on the beach by Melvin and the crew! The owner was there as well and though he couldn't speak English he made sure we were well taken care of as did the staff. Melvin is a wealth of knowledge. He made sure we were well educated on the mangroves that we visited, the background on how DR was founded, and the turtle sanctuary. We honestly didn't want it to end! Book it! You will not regret it!! When we come back again, we will definitely be booking this again.

This was one of our first excursions and our first experience being out of the states. I will say this did not disappoint!!!! The guide was so knowledgeable and informative. It started very early in the morning but I’m so very happy it did! The education that is given with the tour and the walk through their home environment is very eye opening. It’s amazing to see. It was an amazing experience to go to the different islands and explore the different places, see the culture and learn about it. We also got to taste a breakfast and lunch as well. Honestly for the entire stay the four of us agreed this was our favorite day! If you’re questioning whether or not to go? Do it!!!! You will not be disappointed!

Our Isla Saona trip was absolutely amazing — breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and a true sense of Dominican culture throughout the day. Melvin was an exceptional guide with incredible knowledge of the island’s history, people, and traditions. Learning about the history and way of life in Mano Juan was such a unique and meaningful part of the experience, it gave real depth and connection to the beauty around us. Melvin’s passion and his team’s warmth, professionalism, and care made this excursion one I’ll remember for years to come! Isla Saona is breathtaking! Oh, and the best part- Melvin also captured so many great photos along the way, which made the memories even more special.

I was a little concerned when I had a message to say they couldn’t come into the complex & pick us up, especially since I spoke to reception & they knew no reason for this, however my concerns soon left once we picked up more passengers, Melvin is a source of all knowledge of the island & it’s history, the whole day is was very thought out & well planned, we had the whole island to ourselves at one point for a couple of hours before the bigger boats came in, food & drink was plentiful & he spent most of the day explaining things & taking photos of us all on his phone for us to keep it was a wonderful day, we saw, flying fish, dolphins, ray fish , baby turtles, starfish, island dogs, coral reef & fish within the coral. Highly recommend 5 stars

I struggled with this review because the crew truly did their best, went above and beyond, and we tipped them accordingly. Even so, the description of the tour did not match the experience. The bad: rough waters and a severely bumpy ride that went far beyond what we signed up for. If you’re not a thrill seeker or a rollercoaster fan, this is not the trip for you. The ride was high anxiety from start to finish, and even after we asked the crew to slow down, it didn’t improve. The meal, transportation, and overall experience felt authentic, but none of it was exclusive or luxury like the description repeatedly claimed. If you go in with zero expectations, you might have a great time. But if you read the description and expect luxury, it misses the mark, and I hate saying that. A luxury experience should let you relax without outside distractions. Instead, once we reached the beach, we were swarmed by merchants trying to sell us goods and services. That should not have been an issue for something marketed as exclusive. Don’t expect a black luxury SUV either. You’ll share a small transit van with weak AC in the early morning and the late afternoon heat. It was brutal in the afternoon and nowhere near an acceptable standard. We also expected more interaction with sea turtles based on the description. Instead, it was mostly passing jars of eggs, deceased hatchlings, shells, and watching turtles from far away on the boat. Very underwhelming, though I know nature can be unpredictable. Overall, it wasn’t good but it wasn’t bad. If you want luxury I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you want authentic, albeit a little rough around the edges, this is a good tour with good people.
