  • Great Experience. Well worth the $

Angel, our guide provided a perfect combination of witt and knowledge, making this an enjoyable yet educational experience. He truly provided a good insight into the culture and gave a snapshot into life in the Dominican Republic. Truly showed the pride of this island in being able to survive Covid, despite tourism being one of their major industries. Able to survive because they produce almost equal to what they consume. Our driver was great, seamlessly got us where we needed to be and back again (forget his name). Oscar and Julio were our guides at Monkeyland and they were funny, handled the animals well, and provided a wonderful experience. Great 1/2 day trip with plenty of time left in the day for sun and fun.

  • Definitely worth your time if you're an animal lover!

The tour we went on was a cruise ship excursion. The monkey portion of the tour was absolutely priceless. The love, care and respect these animals receive was very evident. We really enjoyed it. We also enjoyed hearing about and sampling the local coffee and cocoa products! The hot cocoa was a recipe unique to the Dominican Republic as was the flavorful coffee. We got some to take home, but I know it won’t taste as good. Lol. Really a special tour.

Had a great experience with the monkeys; we traveled with 3 kids, ages 7, 5 & 2. The coffee and cocao aspect was geared towards older kids/adults. Felt a bit like a sales session. Overall great experience.

Monkeyland was really neat! I felt that the plantation was a bit of sales pitch and I wish we would have learned more about cultivating the plants and processing the beans, etc.

  • Monkeys Great, the rest not so good

We did the Monkeyland only trip, not one to sugar coat, you get straight into see the Monkeys which was wonderful maybe 1/2hr, standing in a group of about 25 and the Monkeys run wild over you while they give you food to feed them, however you then spend 1hr sitting learning about cocoa and coffee beans and then another 1hr sales pitch for you to buy them, the trip it's self picked up at 7:35 and got back at 13:15, would be brilliant if we had just seen the monkeys without the other bits, dont be fooled they dont have the forest to run free there is an electric fence around them stops that.the surrounding forest is beautiful to see

Loved this. I was picked up at my resort, Amaddo was my guide, the open air truck allowed for fresh air and views and sounds of the small towns and mountains all while Amaddo gave a history lesson while giving us a few laughs. The park we were shown how chocolate is made from plant to product as well as coffee and coconut oil. I found this so interesting. The monkeys were so cute and tiny but are food motivated so if you have no food they leave you fun to watch others reactions when being swamped by these creatures I had the best laughs. I was able to purchase bags of coffee, coca and unrefined sugar to bring home. All in all this was the best part of my trip. Highly recommend.

Eddie is fantastic! Lots of interesting info while we were driving. Great tour overall. The plantation was a great place for souvenirs. The monkeys were SO cute!! They have such sweet little faces. My friend wasn't excited for the monkeys to climb all over us but their little feet are so soft that she actually enjoyed herself l. I loved it!!
