My partner and I had booked a vegetarian sushi-making class with Eri, and it was absolutely fantastic - a real highlight of our holiday in Japan! The food we made was delicious, and Eri gave us lots of tips on cookware and ingredients to buy in Japan, since we are both really into cooking. She also recommended some restaurants in Kyoto to us, as that was where we were headed next.

Our cooking class with zero was fantastic. From the time of the booking right through to when she dropped us back at the train station, communication was clear and friendly. Eri has a very personal approach- tailoring your class to you. We all (22 yr old daughter and mum and dad) enjoyed the cooking, the conversation and the food, of course. We were also taken to the supermarket after the lesson to see the ingredients we used. We bought items we know we can take back to New Zealand. We definitely plan to have an okonomiyaki party with friends. Very professional while still very personal, It was also nice to be able to visit an ordinary Japanese home Thank you very much, Eri. I’d highly recommend this activity to anyone interested in cooking.

Eri is a lovely person and a wonderful instructor. She clearly explained every step and guided us through the entire process of cutting, rolling and slicing sushi. I finally feel confident that I’ll be able to manage making a decent sushi at home. Making tempura was quite the revelation. I was always very apprehensive when it came to deep frying anything because of the hot oil. But Eri was so calm and again explained how to prepare all the items and how to let them glide into the oil. I did it myself and it just worked. We didn’t just learn a lot we also had a great time and talked about everything from food to culture and language. It was a wonderful experience and I can only recommend her classes.

Eri was an excellent host and instructor. Her communication prior to the class was excellent with the instruction on where to meet her at the train station and she was on time. She made me feel so welcomed into her home and it was nice to meet her family. Eri instruction for making both the sushi and the tempuras was excellent. She demonstrates first then allow you to make the items. She even provided printed instructions to take home. Every thing tasted delocious and there was so much food! You will love this experience!

My husband and I had a great time learning from Eri. She explained in detail how to make sushi & tempura, gave us a few "inside" tips, and printed instructions to take home. Can't wait to make it at home!

We had such a great time learning how to roll sushi and cook tempura! Communication between the host was great from the directions to meet her through to the end of the experience. We had so much fun not only cooking but talking and learning more about Japan. A great experience to add to your Japan itinerary.
