A super evening sampling a wide range of previously untried food and drink. Something for everyone - our favourite was the jamu stop, but all were authentic local and regional specialities. Pace yourself is our advice. Great guidance through the swarms of people during peak domestic holiday season. Becak rides are always fun as well. Highly recommended

The food tasting was great. Kalika, had an extensive knowledge about what the food was made of, and the history of how it has come to be. Totally enjoyed the experience.

I really enjoy my food tour in evening in Yogyakarta. My tour guide Anisa were very pleasant and helpful. Very knowledgeable about history. The tour was by walking and by becak. I tasted different traditional Indonesian food and tea. I am vegetarian and I were serve vegetarian foods. I saw some monuments and some history sites. I had a nice evening.

Had a great time. Our guide Anisa talked not only about the food, but also about the city's history. Gave also tips about other activities to do and places to see. Learned a lot about the local food. There were 5 different eating places, alla food costs included in the price. In between restaurants/food stalls we either walked or took a riksha (included in the price). They considered our preferences in spice level and food allergies. Good value for money, would reccomend to anyone even if already familiar with Indonesian food.

We almost had to cancel our food tour due to heavy rain earlier in the evening, but luckily the rain stopped just in time - and we’re so glad it did! The tour brought us to 5 different stops, travelling by beca rides and on foot, which made the whole experience feel very immersive and authentic. As first-time visitors to the city, we were introduced to local food and drinks that we probably would never have tried on our own—from nasi kucing, kopi jos, lumpia, gudeg, jamu drinks to bakmi. Each stop offered something unique, and it really opened our eyes (and taste buds!) to the local culinary culture beyond the usual tourist spots. Our tour guide, Anisa, was knowledgeable, well-organized, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the evening. She also shared helpful context about the food and the places we visited, which made the experience even more meaningful. We had such a fun time together and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to discover hidden local gems in the city!

Had a fantastic tour of 3+hours of walking, riding and learning about the food and history of Yogyakarta. Kalika was an amazing guide and was so gracious in taking to me so many local places to experience the delicious food of this region/city. I lost count after 10+ tastings/drinks. This is a must tour and it rivals any of the food tours I've done is other cities (Bangkok, KL, Taipei, Chicago, etc.). A must do on your first night to ensure the rest of your stay is filled with incredible food choices.

Excellent insightful tour hosted by knowledgeable and charming Kalika: good value and well organised. Interesting and very tasty variety of local comfort food and drinks; kicked off with a delicious charcoal bombed tamarind coffee - finished perfectly with some sweet & bitter mystery shots from a vintage herbalist

We did the food tour with Kalika. Really a top guide. We indicated in advance that we were excited to eat street food because of food poisoning or Bali belly. We got a good response to this that it was taken into account and that only safe tents and restaurants were eaten. This is also true because 3 days later nothing bothers. Kalika even brought cutlery and hand sanitizer which gave an even better/safer feeling. She gave clear instructions to combat food poisoning. Now for the food: we had a great meal and about 6 different dishes. This was great, super many taste differences. Highly recommended!! Plenty of good food. And the guide was also really top, super sweet and she spoke very good English

An excellent evening - despite the rain. Kalika was an excellent guide allowing us to experience a range of local food and let us know about the area and customs where we walked. She thought of everything with hand sanitizer, tissues, our own plastic spoon. It was really informative and very filling
