This is not your typical wine tasting. The Wine & True Crime Tour blends Solvang’s quirkiest tasting rooms with chilling tales of crime and the macabre. Think of it as a storytelling experience with drinks, not a guided lesson in wine.
Over two hours, you’ll join a small group of fellow true crime fans as we visit three unique spots, including a slasher-themed winery and offbeat wine bars. Along the way, your guide will share gripping stories of 70s serial killers, unsolved mysteries, and haunted mortuaries.
You’ll enjoy three generous pours: a wine flight, a wine-based tiki cocktail (no rum here), and a sparkling wine farewell toast.

5.00John is a ball of energy with so much knowledge! He keeps you on your toes with all the true crimes stories while keeping it light & fun! Throughout your walk you’ll notice he has great connections with all the bartenders you’ll meet along the way because of who he is! So genuine! I HIGHLY recommend this tour specifically because of John & how special he makes it! *Side note* - the last bar wasn’t the best experience due to the rude bartenders NOT John. He works way too hard for them to treat him like that.

5.00My husband and I were celebrating our 7 year anniversary and booked this wine tasting and true crime tour. We had a blasted! Our tour guide, John, was very knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. The three locations had different themes, and I think that lends itself to ensure people with varying interests have a good time. The wines were delicious! The wine hosts provided quick service. Overall a great experience!
