Sinharaja Rain Forest a very important, UNESCO named world heritage site and Biosphere reserve. Sinharaja is one of the most important bio diversity hotspot in Sri Lank The hilly virgin rain forest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, it is a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.
An interesting phenomenon is that birds tend to move in mixed feeding flocks, invariably led by the fearless Greater Racket-tailed Drongo and the noisy Orange-billed Babbler. Of Sri Lanka's 26 endemic birds, the 20 rainforest species all occur here, including the elusive Red-faced Malkoha, Green-billed Coucal and Sri Lanka Blue Magpie.
Reptiles include the endemic Green pit viper and Hump-nosed vipers, and there are a large variety of amphibians, especially tree frogs. Invertebrates include the endemic Common Birdwing butterfly and the inevitable leeches.

4.00Very interesting tour though I expected to see more wildlife. Saw iguanas, butterflies, snakes and beautiful waterfalls. The guide had knowledge of the rainforest. The driver was very careful and kind and went through small villages which added to the tour as I saw how the life in Sri Lanka is like and passed some breathtaking places. Nevertheless , a bit expensive activity.

5.00It was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. The driver arrived in the morning just as promised to pick me up. He drove me to the Rainforest and the Ranger was already waiting for me, so the tour could start immediately. The tour itself was also very nice (10/10). We saw lots of animals, beautiful plants and my highlight was the swimming in the waterfall. When the tour was over the driver already waited for me outside to drive me home. The van had AC and the driver stopped on the way home to buy me a delicious coconut!🥰

5.00I was visiting Sinharaja forest from Induruwa, 1 day tour. The driver was polite, tour guide accompanied me showed me a lot of interesting things in jungle. So the tour was and exciting. Good value for money.

5.00Great tour and organisation. We truly enjoyed our time on the trip and had a great day in the Sinharaja Rainforest. We got amazing views of the rainforest and sightings of animals including snakes, butterflies, monkeys and peacocks.

4.00Was good, saw lots of small animals such as snakes, lizards and centipedes but no birds as we got there late morning. The misty forest scenery on way up was also beautiful. The only negative was that it poured with rain- we got completely drenched- so a bit of warning from the guide about leaving dry clothes and shoes in car and having an Umbrella or two would have been useful.

4.00Good tour with lots to see! The waterfalls are amazing. Very knowledgeable guide. Good place to go if you like hikes or like exploring for plants and flowers or lizards, frogs and snakes. Sameeri the driver, is nice and is friendly, calls you the day before to confirm everything.

5.00I booked this tour through TA. The driver picked me up at 730am sharp in colombo, drove 3 hrs and met by guide, he took me on bike to entrance and we started the trek. I saw chameleons, millipedes, snakes and spiders, along with 3 waterfalls. I tried to climb the 1st one but slipped, my guide was so gracious and helpful. I also got bit by a leech on my foot, he bandaged the bite.God bless him. You should have some level of fitness to do this trek, its uphill in places. I swam in the 2nd waterfall area. I recommend this one. We then ate lunch at his mothers restaurant which is homecooked sri lankan food. I was told many foreigners decline. They truly are missing out on authentic sri lankan cuisine. I very much recommend this tour/trek
