One of the best food travel experiences I’ve ever done. Learned so much about the history and people of Mexico through its food. Food was delicious.

March 2025 This is hands down the best cooking class I've ever had. Jane is a food historian. While learning about preparations of local foods she is teaching you about the rich history behind the origins of certain ingredients being used. She is fun, lively, and committed to supporting the locals in her village through scholarships and employment. The food we prepared was delicious and eating together under the shade of a beautiful tree on her beautiful property was a treat. this is a must do when in Hualtulco. She also has a restaurant closer to town.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class with Jane and crew. The facility was very clean and quite comfortable. We met other travellers who also loved, and appreciated the wonderful tastes of Huatulco. Jane was very informative with her instructions of cooking, and also her in depth knowledge of the state of Oaxaca and Mexico. I highly recommend this class, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Jane! Deb & Tom Northern Ontario, Canada

Very nice class. The driver was on time and easy to find. Cooking class was enjoyable. We learned about the history of the area. It was a very hot day so the heat was a factor for us.

My partner and I experienced an anthropological cooking class with Jane and her sous-chef in a small town. We were picked up among other tourists and brought to the cooking class where we spent three hours learning about the history of Mexico, drinking margaritas and prepping several dishes. It was the highlight of our trip!

Highly recommend Chocolate and Chiles street food cooking class. It’s a bit of a drive from La Crucecita but worth it. We loved the education/history lesson and creating amazing salsas, fillings, and a margarita! The location is beautiful. Love the cookbook that has the recipes in it so you can make at home.

What a wonderful experience! Jane is genuine, passionate and appreciative of all things cooking and Mexico. Her knowledge of the national and local culture, history and food brings the whole cooking class together. It’s easy to read a recipe book or watch a video, but Jane’s personal stories puts a memorable bow on the whole experience. The setting was perfect too!
