Julia and Yusef were really prompt in responding and helpful in the lead up to the tour, answering questions and offering great advise. We had a private tour for just our family of four (with our 9 and 7 year old). They met us from the hotel with a couple of cars and were taken to the start of the tour in the old part of town. We spent the next 2 hours walking around markets, seeing bread made and baked, and sampling tasters of everything yummy along the way. They were a really great couple and full of knowledge about the country and city. Full of energy and made it the perfect mix of exploring, eating and learning about this amazing place. All fuelled up we then went on an underground exploration of many of the beautiful stations. Hearing about the history and stories behind the different stations was fascinating. We then popped up above ground near to the Tashkent Television tower and had a tasty lunch seeing prepration and tasting many types of the delicious Plov. It was a fabulous tour, they were really great with the kids and we all had a brillant time. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Thank you for a lovely start to the holiday and was great to meet the locals with wonderful stories.

We had a great time on this tour. It’s partially a food tour and partially a tour of the Tashkent metro system, so you don’t eat as much as you might on a typical food tour, but you definitely won’t go hungry. The guides, Julia and Yusuf, were really flexible and adjusted the tour based on what we were interested in. They helped us find the best things at a good price at Chorsu Bazaar and shared a lot of information about Uzbekistan in an understandable and engaging way. Take some cash with you if you’re planning on buying something at the bazaar (e.g., nuts, dried fruit, tea, and fresh fruit are outstanding—but there’s almost anything you could ever want 😄). Highly recommend this tour—it was a truly enjoyable experience that felt tailored to our interests. The pre-tour communication was swift and clear, and we got to see interesting places, try great food, and learn a lot of new things about Uzbekistan.

This was an eye-opening (and tasty!) tour of the food of Uzbekistan, plus a glimpse into the wonderful underground world of the impressive Tashkent metro. Julia and Yusuf were informative, and very nice company to have for the day. They were clearly passionate about the city. They also tailored the experience to our particular needs (including added stops for shopping!). We had already tasted Samarkand and Bukhara Osh (Plov) - so they arranged for us to have Tashkent and Ferghana Osh. We have come to realize that Tashkent is under-rated among the many top destinations in Uzbekistan, and Yusuf and Julia played a huge role in this realization. Everything was well-planned and on-time. This is a fantastic tour - and we would give more than 5 stars, if possible!
