The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of the city. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities.
Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way for showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. During our gastronomic tours in Genoa, you can taste some of the iconic dishes of this magnificent city. Choosing the traditional tour you will discover the dishes that have made the history of the city such as the famous pasta al pesto, cheese focaccia and much more, in a tour with at least 4 stops between typical restaurants and historic take-away restaurants. Our street food tour will take you instead to the discovery of the most famous street food in the city, from the famous focaccia to the delicious fried fish cone. On the other hand, with the gourmet food tour you will discover traditional dishes in a gourmet key, in historical places but also in the most modern city bistros, discovering the Genoese culinary innovation.
You will star the tour with one of the most famous dishes of Genoa, Pasta with pesto: classic basil Pesto sauce was born in Genoa. You will have the chance to taste the authentic recipe made of local fresh basil and pine nuts!

3.00Outstanding guide and a beautiful city but was hoping for more diversity in food. Did the classic walking tour and we had focaccia, pasta, focaccia with cheese, and gelato. It was tasty but I was hoping for some fish and some more detail on the history of the food culture.

5.00Marina was an awesome tour guide-hostess! She was very through on the history & the food we are. The Genova focaccia was amazing. Literally melt in your mouth. In America are focaccia and pizza has a thick crust which I think really takes away from the thin crust. That is the original coming out of general. We wandered the city and saw many of the important historical sites and finished our tour with amazing gelato.! We wanted to go on a hike the next day and I checked with Marina via WhatsApp and she responded quickly with locations that were close to where we were staying and easy to access by train. She included maps and all that was pertinent to our adventure. She really was a delight. Her English is excellent and we would definitely go with her again on the tour. It is more than just food! Pesto is America is so very different than the real authentic pesto of Genova. There is nothing like it.

5.00Great food and a fantastic guide. Valentina took us around to some amazing eats (I'm ruined for hot chocolate... Nothing will every match that cafe.) and had great tidbits on history and culture of the area.
