Sarina Sugar Shed showcases the rich heritage of the sugar cane industry in the Mackay region. Your fully guided one-hour tour will take you on an interactive, educational and tasty journey of the Queensland sugar industry from paddock to plate. Taste award-winning liqueurs made in our on-site boutique distillery, as well as our gourmet range of sauces, chutney and relishes. Tastings also include our freshly-spun fairy floss and our own brewed non alcoholic ginger beer.

What To Expect
This is a one-hour fully guided tour. The tour starts with a welcome and introduction, followed by a short walk outdoors, past our sugar cane patch and historic machinery. Your guide will take you on a brief historic journey into the pioneering days of the sugar cane farmers in the Mackay region. Then it is back indoors, into our mill and distillery area, where your guide will take you through the process of extracting juice from fresh sugar cane. The tour finishes with tastings of our rum and fruit liqueur products, our chutneys, relishes and sauces, our non-alcoholic ginger beer, and our freshly-spun fairy floss.

5.00Fantastic sugar shed tour. Jessie was a fabulous host. Very knowledgeable and brilliant with guest of all ages (and those with additional needs). Excellent info about the cane and the process within the shed. The tasting experience is wonderful- as are all of the products. You can taste all the sauces/ condiments they make plus their ginger beer and Limecello, Coconut rum, Turkish delight rum, Butterscotch schnapps, coffee rum and the rum liqueur. To finish it all off you can watch fairy floss I made and get to try some. The cafe is great too! Perfect day out!
