When people think of the word ‘Diet’ they think strict regime, no luxury, minimal taste, a quick fix, The Mediterranean Diet is so not this, it is more than a healthy eating recommendation, it is a way of LIFE.
A way of eating and lifestyle that is sunshine on a plate, enriches the soul and celebrates, local, fresh, seasonal produce, cooked and prepared simply and enjoyed in a relaxed manor, with family and friends.
The Mediterranean Diet, is healthy, vibrant, delicious and nutritious. No food group is denied, wine is even recommended, (drunk responsibly of course) !
On this Cooking Class experience, you will be able to soak up the atmosphere and environment at our mountain home La Rosilla. We will create a delicious lunch together, learn the benefits of each ingredient and diet recommendations. We will enjoy your creations alfresco under the grapevine or around the cosy dining table by the fire in winter.

La Rosilla is set in the mountains, there are steps and uneven floors, sue to the traditional style building.

What To Expect
We will start The Mediterranean Diet Cooking Class at La Rosilla at 11am. Fresh ground coffee or herbal tea, fresh squeezed juice and sweet treat will be offered whilst your day will be explained to you, along with the history and customs, gastronomy of Colmenar the Montes de Malaga and the Axarquia. Your culinary adventure awaits, learning, indulging and creating together with your private group, cooking alfresco and in the La Rosilla kitchen. We will make together a four course lunch, all based around The Mediterranean Diet philosophy. During the day, we will have tapas , taste local ingredients, create traditional seasonal dishes, sip and try wines, along with home-grown olive oils. The dishes we create will be enjoyed Spanish style as a long leisurely lunch, alfresco on the grapevine-covered terrace, weather permitting, taking in the views to die for, or during winter months in front of a roaring fire in our country kitchen. It get’s frio in Spain too, especially in the mountains. After Mint Teas and sobremesa, we will say ‘Hasta Luego‘, recipes and information pack will be forward by email.

5.00Lynsey and Alan hosted me and my wife for a long lesson and lunch (5 hours) during our holiday in the Malaga area. They were excellent hosts. Warm, charming, smart and with great humor! We had the added benefit of Nell (daughter) being home from university and adding to the experience and conversation. The class is hosted at their home in the Andalusian mountains near Malaga. It's a beautiful setting. They were well prepared with all of the many ingredients we used for cooking, utensils, etc. All the food was bursting with flavors and complimented with good wine. Our "effort" was made easy because Lynsey was so well prepared and happy to make it all easy for us! Having lunch on the veranda overlooking the mountains was superb! The drive to and from their home was a bit of an adventure. For those of you who are used to open roads with easy travel, plan a little extra time. We were a few minutes late, even though we thought we had left our hotel early. Google was not entirely our friend as it sent us into very tight spaces in the small town near their home. I recommend getting directions from Lynsey, which we ultimately did after some struggles. Some of the views along the road to their home are spectacular! Craig and Patricia, USA

5.00My daughter and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit La Rosilla in January 2025. It was amazing as Lynsey and Alan were the most gracious hosts who invited us into their home. We prepared Mediterranean food using local ingredients. Their home was set atop a mountain and the scenery was stunning. I cant say enough about how much we enjoyed our cooking experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique cooking experience out of the city. 5 stars!

Great views in the taxi - treated myself as well 😀 Up in the high hills the villa has spectacular views and Lynsey proved an excellent host and shared cooking tips and techniques without being too fussy or complicated. It helped that the weather was fantastic. She kept us topped up with the juice of the grape 😳 which ensured we had a thoroughly lovely time. Thanks Lynsey

5.00What an unforgettable way to spend an afternoon with friends! We were immediately staggered by the incredible views and the atmosphere it creates on the terrace where we dined. Lynsey welcomed us into her home, shared her knowledge of food and the local area, and guided us in preparing restaurant quality food. It was so relaxed and friendly, and Lynsey's thoughtful approach to hospitality meant that we could enjoy an experience together without being on a more formal cookery course. You nailed it Lynsey! We have also now booked for the hiking day.
