In the cozy home, you will become acquainted with old-lived history, traditions and the culture of Karaites in Lithuania. You will also find out secrets of kybyns and learn a special technique to roll out a dough. Through a fun and easy lesson you will get to know more about this unique meal, the secrets of which are transferred from generation to generation of Karaites families. Finally, you will enjoy the unique taste of kybyn made by yourself together with some delicious soup.

Trakai is a historic city and lake resort in Lithuania. It lies 28 kilometres (17 miles) west of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Because of its proximity to Vilnius, Trakai is a popular tourist destination. Trakai is the administrative centre of Trakai district municipality. A notable feature of Trakai is that the town was built and preserved by people of different nationalities. Historically, communities of Karaims, Tatars, Lithuanians, Russians, Jews and Poles lived here.

It was an experience of cultural depth, as not only cooking techniques were shared, but also insights about the local heritage behind this the food dishes, including the delicious local pastries. The atmosphere was welcoming and we learnt about crafting these savory treats.
