What To Expect
As a professional guide we introduce ourselves to the group one hour before the start time of the excursion, where we have two times available which would be from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm and from 10:00 pm to 12:00 pm Once we showed up an hour before at the meeting point we went to a place called Base, which is where we waited for the call from some companions called Trackers who are in charge of guarding the beach and giving us the notice that we will be able to see the Turtle. At La Base we provide information about the species of Sea Turtle that we will see, such as the Green Turtle Chelonia Mydas and the processes allowed by the Tortuguero National Park, and travelers will have the opportunity to see the Second Largest Turtle in its Natural State. the world and the moment in which she lays her eggs, as well as travelers will be able to ask questions about the excursion and the species of Turtle, all questions and concerns are asked in this Base place, because once you go to see the No noise can be spawned, or telephone, cameras, flashlights, smart watches are allowed, only the red light of the Guide is allowed.

3.00I was up sold to a boat with the expectation of being on the beach for a longer amount of time: mislead that we would be there 2 hour tour. Took less then an hour total including boat ride. I would do the experience again, but with a different company.

5.00Owen our guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable, obviously cared about the turtles. We were a small group and he got us there early for a briefing and we were then straight out to see the amazing turtle spawning. It was an amazing experience. One note, you’re allocated a sector on the beach, ours was miles away so there was an extra $8 fee for a boat ride. Overall an incredible experience that we will remember forever and far better than the more expensive, large group tour the hotel was offering.

5.00When I booked it said operator was tortutravel for which Antonio was quite helpful. But turned out the tour was conducted by Leonardo tours which was extremely well done. I just don’t like the fact that you book with one company and ended with another. Amazing experience watching green sea turtle laying her eggs then compacting her nest. We didn’t stay for her to return to sea. Leonardo extremely knowledgeable about turtles and the patrol practices. Awesome surprise to see this when we visited in the last few days of the season. Thank you so much!!
