The hike takes an average of 40-50 minutes to the peak, and during the ascent, you will find the first viewpoint where you will see Rocinha, one of the largest favelas in South America. Had such a great time! Ninho is an amazing guide, very accommodating and friendly. Got to see some spectacular views of Rio and learned so much about Vidigal. Definitely worth the early morning wake up call! Would highly recommend.

Myself and 6 friends had the BEST time with Monique and Junior on the two brothers hike and favela tour! If you want a truly authentic and unique experience i highly recommend this tour! We started with taking a moto taxi to the beginning of the hike which was exciting and very different! Monique and Junior made us feel safe and welcome all the time and were very knowledgeable about the history of the favalas. The hike is very doable and had some amazing views of the city at the top! After we stopped for a drink and some lunch in the favela. The people and community were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend if you want to get a local experience and something a bit different from your commercial tours. What’s also great is part of what you pay goes back into the community which I think is awesome! Thanks Monique for an amazing experience, will definitely come back!
