• Wonderful wild elephants and more

  If you ever get the chance to do this trip then go. You will see elephants in there natural environment as well as lots of other animals. Crocodiles, kingfishers (we saw the 3 different types), monkeys, mongoose, herons, bee catchers etc etc. We then went onto watch the baby elephants being fed their milk. What a beautiful experience and one we will never forgot. Sam at Bentota Travel Mart was brillant, his communication was on time with exactly the information that we needed. Ishan our guide was also amazing. He was on time, polite, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. His driving was excellent and got us to all the right places at exactly the right times. It's the little things, for example the car was spotless with good air conditioning and Ishan opened my door for me every time.

  Had an amazing safari to Udawalawe National Park, saw a huge amount of birds, crocodiles and elephants, our guide was very good at pointing out everything. Really lucky with all the animals we saw. After we went to the Elephant Transit Home. It was lovely to see the elephants. I had read on previous reviews that lots of people went and it was crowded. There were also families with lots of children shouting which spoilt the experience. It’s a shame that the people that run the home do not ask people to shout out and make loads of noise. It spoilt it for me and I felt sorry for the baby elephants having to hear that which shouldn’t be allowed.   A must for any elephant lovers, it’s a long day, but you are pickup from hotel and delivered back in an air conditioned car, the safari is a memorable experience with a knowledgeable guide getting you close up with the elephant, fellowed by feeding time at the elephant orphanage.

  Really good day trip all made very easy for us from pick in Hiriketiya and travelling up to the national park and back. We did the morning safari and although is a very early pick up at 5am, it’s worth it to beat the crowds and heat! The safari itself was really good we saw many bird species pointed out by our guide, sleeping crocodiles on the edge of the water and many elephants some up really close we could have touched them (we didn’t!). Our 5&8year old loved it! Great stressless tour would highly recommend We did have problems when trying to book on trip advisor as we were in and air b&b that was not on their pick up list or anywhere near but we rang up the number and they were very helpful. Ended uk getting picked up just 5 min walk away

  Fantastic trip from start to finish. 4am pick up in a lovely clean comfy car with bottled water. The safari itself was amazing. We saw 10 different elephants including a mum with her 2 babies. Also saw crocodiles, water buffalo and lots of tropical birds. Our guide was knowledgable and very informative. The trip to the Elephant Transit Home to see the babies being fed was also a real experience. Our driver made sure we were there in plenty of time and showed us the best spot to sit for a good view.   Was a perfect experience. Taxi was on time and picked us up at 445am from Hiriketiya. About an hour and a half drive. Immediately met your guide and the driver and our guide took us on the jeep through the park. We saw elephants (mother and baby) up close immediately and 2 or 3 other times during trip. The guide was so knowledgeable and pointed out so many different species of bird, peacocks, lizards throughout. Lunch was buffet style a lovely local sri lankan restaurant. Would highly recommend this trip to all.
