Good communication with the company. Good value excursion. Was waiting to greet us from the ship at the gate as arranged. Coach was clean and air conditioned. Took us to a town where we swapped into a jeep. Thought that the park would be a short distance away but there was still another 30-40 mins to go. As we approached, saw 2 elephants - one of which came right up to the jeep and allowed us to stroke him. Amazing. The guide was really good, kept stopping to point out different bird species as well as the red deer, water buffalo, crocs, monitor lizards. Jeep ride was more like an off road experience but very good all the same. Return journey seemed much quicker than the outward journey. Got back in plenty of time for the ship.

Tour was great. Communication on meeting times was terrible. Booked 8am tour, told to meet at 10:30. Had to hunt them up and call. Never explained or apologized for me and 7 others had to be ready 2.5 hours ahead of time standing around in the sun

Timing changed to 10.30 pick up Animals sleeping in afternoon say no elephants in park. Drive spent more time in dense bush pot holed roads just filling time. On return to boat other told of there great experience, our did match that

We had an awesome time. We were on a cruise and booked this jeep safari on a port day. They picked us up, took us about two hours to the park, got us all on jeeps, drove us all over the park and got us back to the ship before it sailed. While we were in the park we saw some elephants, lots of spotted deer, water buffalo, some wonderful peacocks, monkeys, crocodiles and some beautiful birds. Our driver was great and attentive. He stopped for every sighting. We were very happy.

When we arrived at the dock gate there was confusion and choas about where to board our transportation. Once on board the drive spoke no English so we didn't know what was going on. The coach had seen better days. After travelling for an hour it became apparent that we were being transferred to jeeps. Our jeep had also seen better days and was difficult for people of a certain age to board the jeep; a small step stool would have been a great help. The seat belts on the jeep were broken. The guide spoke no English so couldn't tell anything about the National Park. Having said all that the actual tour was very good as we saw a few small elephant herds, numerous herds of deer, iguanas, monkeys, a crocodile, various species of birds and peacocks but unfortunately no leopards which others on the tour manged to see. After touring the National Park for a few hours it was back to the ship with no opportunity for a toilet break until we reached the transfer point.

By jeep from Hambantota Harbour to Yala National Park. Our driver and guide showed us many animals in the park.

This is not a reflection of the company but the Yala experience. We saw no game except buck and monkeys. The foliage is very dense so unless an animal is within 10 meters you would not see it. The roads are really bumpy and uncomfortable to ride on. As this is a trip for cruise passengers, one cannot go early morning or late afternoon where more animals may be spotted.

This was offered as a shore excursion and two things made it not good for that. First is the distance and time put us doing the safari in the middle of the day. That is the worst time to see animals in any national park. The second is the limited area of coverage. We went over the same roads for four hours. At the end of the day, we saw one elephant, one turtle, one crocodile, a few birds and three herds of spotted Sri Lanka deer. We passed each group several times going back and forth down the same roads. There were several groups from our cruise ship and the others thought we did really good seeing an elephant and a crocodile. No other group saw anything but the deer.

Great tour with a knowledgeable guide, he spotted many animals we would have missed without him, an enjoyable day. Good pick up from cruise port.

Poor access into jeeps. Many struggled. Was not made clear in description. Dilapidated vehicle - seats ripped, seat belts u/s or non existent. Access needs to be improved. Overall enjoyed. Guide tried but mornings/dusk are better.
