Uluwatu Temple
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is definitely one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights, with direct views overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and daily Kecak dance performances. Balinese architecture, traditionally designed gateways and ancient sculptures add to Uluwatu Temple appeal. Without a doubt, what makes Uluwatu Temple spectacular is its cliff top setting at the edge of a plateau 250 feet above the waves of the Indian Ocean. Ulu means the top or the tip and watu means a stone or a rock in Balinese. Several archaeological remains found here prove the temple to be of megalithic origin, dating back to around the 10th century.
Kecak and Fire Dance
KECAK AND FIRE DANCE IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR BALINESE DANCE PERFORMANCE WHERE THE DANCE IS NOT USING MUSIC INSTRUMENTS BUT ONLY BY HUMAN VOICE Not known exactly where Kecak and Fire Dance originated, which was first developed but there are some kind of agreement on the Balinese Kecak was first developed into a performing arts in the village of Bona, Gianyar, as additional knowledge Kecak was originally a song or music that is resultant from a combination sounds that make up melodies that are usually used to accompany the sacred dance Sanghyang and can only be staged in the temple. Then in the early 1930s by artists from the village of Bona, Gianyar trying to develop a Kecak dance by taking the story of Ramayana who danced as a substitute for Sanghyang Dance so this dance could eventually be displayed in public as a performance art. Part of the Ramayana story in which the first is taken as Goddess Sita was abducted by King Rahvana.

We took a long drive through traffic to reach the cliff. The view overlooking the Indian Ocean was truly stunning and worth the trip. Unfortunately, we had to head to the Kecak dance performance before sunset, so we missed the sunset itself, which was quite disappointing. I’d recommend watching the dance only if you're familiar with the story, as it can be hard to follow otherwise. The seating at the open-air theatre was extremely crowded—packed like sardines—and not very comfortable. It can also get quite hot and overwhelming due to the crowd. Dinner afterward was enjoyable. However, like much of Bali, we found that more time was spent traveling than actually sightseeing.

We enjoyed a most interesting experience. Our guide Budy was great. He looked after us very, very well. We enjoyed the experience, the show was very good , and the Seafood dinner afterwards was fantastic. We missed a visit to the temple as my wife was not happy with the attention of the monkey's. I would certainly recommend this excursion, and recommend the guide Budy, as with the extraordinary traffic especially the scooters and motor bikes he looked after us very very well and ensured we had a very enjoyable excursion. .

Thu Buddy our tour guide was amazing !! He made sure we were taken care of and gave us pertinent information and what to watch out for like monkeys taking glasses from you. He made sure we were seated in a place in the amphitheater where we could leave quickly out of the Kecak dance show and parked his vehicle in a way that we were one of the first to get out. Also for the seafood dinner that is included he made sure we had an excellent table. He took all our pics and videos. Excellent guide 🙏

This was a wonderful tour!! Our guide Budi did an excellent job telling us about the history of the temple and dance. He was especially helpful in giving us guidance about the monkeys at the temple. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Budi!
