Uluwatu Temple
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is definitely one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights, with direct views overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and daily Kecak dance performances. Balinese architecture, traditionally designed gateways and ancient sculptures add to Uluwatu Temple appeal. Without a doubt, what makes Uluwatu Temple spectacular is its cliff top setting at the edge of a plateau 250 feet above the waves of the Indian Ocean. Ulu means the top or the tip and watu means a stone or a rock in Balinese. Several archaeological remains found here prove the temple to be of megalithic origin, dating back to around the 10th century.
Kecak and Fire Dance
KECAK AND FIRE DANCE IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR BALINESE DANCE PERFORMANCE WHERE THE DANCE IS NOT USING MUSIC INSTRUMENTS BUT ONLY BY HUMAN VOICE Not known exactly where Kecak and Fire Dance originated, which was first developed but there are some kind of agreement on the Balinese Kecak was first developed into a performing arts in the village of Bona, Gianyar, as additional knowledge Kecak was originally a song or music that is resultant from a combination sounds that make up melodies that are usually used to accompany the sacred dance Sanghyang and can only be staged in the temple. Then in the early 1930s by artists from the village of Bona, Gianyar trying to develop a Kecak dance by taking the story of Ramayana who danced as a substitute for Sanghyang Dance so this dance could eventually be displayed in public as a performance art. Part of the Ramayana story in which the first is taken as Goddess Sita was abducted by King Rahvana.

This experience was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Bali so far! The Uluwatu Temple was absolutely breathtaking — the view from the cliff overlooking the ocean was stunning, and the atmosphere felt peaceful yet full of energy (even with all the monkeys running around. Lol) The Kecak fire dance that followed was mesmerizing. The chanting, movement, and storytelling were so powerful and magical. It’s an experience that really lets you feel the heart of Balinese culture. We ended the evening with a seafood dinner on Jimbaran Beach, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The seafood was fresh and delicious, and eating right by the water with my feet in the sand and the sound of the waves nearby was the perfect way to end the night. There were even fireworks and three musicians came by to sing a romantic song in celebration of my husband and I anniversary.!! A special shoutout to our amazing guide, Budi — he truly made this experience unforgettable! He was kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. Budi took the time to explain the history and meaning behind everything, helped us get the best spots for photos, and made sure we felt comfortable and cared for the whole time. His positive energy really added something special to the evening. Everything about this tour was seamless — beautiful sights, amazing culture, great food, and wonderful company. If you’re coming to Bali, don’t miss this experience, and if you’re lucky enough to have Budi as your guide, you’re in for an incredible time

We had a great experience, fire dance was great, I even had my sunglasses stolen from me from a Monkey at the temple however staff promptly recovered them. Our guide was a really nice guy, very attencious and communicative. Explained the temple and temple figures storys and took some great pictures of me and my wife. I would recommend these to anyone, we just like very much the dinner which was included on the activity but the guide had no responsability on this

We took a long drive through traffic to reach the cliff. The view overlooking the Indian Ocean was truly stunning and worth the trip. Unfortunately, we had to head to the Kecak dance performance before sunset, so we missed the sunset itself, which was quite disappointing. I’d recommend watching the dance only if you're familiar with the story, as it can be hard to follow otherwise. The seating at the open-air theatre was extremely crowded—packed like sardines—and not very comfortable. It can also get quite hot and overwhelming due to the crowd. Dinner afterward was enjoyable. However, like much of Bali, we found that more time was spent traveling than actually sightseeing.

We enjoyed a most interesting experience. Our guide Budy was great. He looked after us very, very well. We enjoyed the experience, the show was very good , and the Seafood dinner afterwards was fantastic. We missed a visit to the temple as my wife was not happy with the attention of the monkey's. I would certainly recommend this excursion, and recommend the guide Budy, as with the extraordinary traffic especially the scooters and motor bikes he looked after us very very well and ensured we had a very enjoyable excursion. .

We really enjoyed our half-day tour with our guide-driver Thu Buddy. Leaving at 2:30 p.m., the timing proposed by the guide was perfect. Very attentive to our needs, our guide gave us all the practical advice and appointments before we wandered around the Uluwatu temple area, perched majestically on its cliff overlooking the ocean. The time given was quite sufficient before we attended an hour of Balinese dances at sunset. This show over, we found our driver-guide who took us to a seaside restaurant where we enjoyed a balanced and perfectly fresh seafood meal. After dinner, Mr. THU BUDDY, always so attentive, took us back to our hotel. Thank you to him for this beautiful day.

Buddy was AWESOME!!!! He was funny, friendly, and went the extra mile to make us comfortable. He was a safe driver too. Come to Bali and you’ll understand. He’s the best, ASK FOR HIM AND YOU’LL HAVE THE BEST TIME. Now the tour itself. Good and Bad BAD first-Uluwatu——MEAN MONKEYS OMG!!!! We purposely chose excursions without monkeys. This vendor didn’t mention monkeys. Thank God for Buddy. He told us about the monkeys and to take all of our jewelry off, put our phones up and bags. They were ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! we watched a lady get pushed with all 4 feet of a monkey as great snatched her glasses off her face. At the Kechac show, a lady beside us had her glasses snatched by a monkey and it bit a piece of the arm of her glasses off. Also, the seafood dinner in Jimbaran is really on the beach. So be prepared. I had Clorox wipes to wipe down our table. GOOD-Buddy to us to this place that makes coffee and teas. We got a tour, learned some stuff, and sampled at least 12 coffees and teas. The Uluwatu temple was pretty EXCEPT THE MEAN MONKEYS. The fire dance was AWESOME!!! It was beautiful overlooking the Indian Ocean at sunset. The actors were great and the chorus was amazing. We even got pictures with the actors afterwards.
