The first wharf, 160 m long, was built from 06 October 1899 to 26 January 1900 in wood by engineers from the German firm Kloppel. It had been destroyed by the waves in April of that year, before the construction of a metal wharf was planned. So we see the wooden wharf next to the metal wharf
