A great thing to do on a Saturday morning! My guide kept the tour engaging and interesting. I’d recommend to anyone interested in history, and wants to know a little more about about history in Newcastle!

A great experience. I learned lots, despite thinking I knew plenty! Helen was a fount of knowledge and knows her subject inside out. However, without minimising the horrors that the Sufragettes experienced, she made the tour entertaining and had great anecdotes. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Helen is such a wonderful storyteller! I took my 11 year old daughter along with me & we had such a lovely morning with her and the other ladies on the tour. We are both history lovers & learnt so much about our local Suffragettes as well as the movement in general. 10/10 I would definitely recommend & will be looking out for future tours 💜🤍💚

The tour was such a fun way to learn more about the women's suffrage movement! The walk around Newcastle was fairly short but packed with stops around various spots of interest and the tour took approx 1,5hrs in total. Helen was superb! She brought history to life in such an engaging way and was kind to share additional reading list when the tour ended. This tour definitely made me reflect and appreciate the times we live in. I'd highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the tour - plenty of content with a passionate delivery from Helen who brought past history to life for us all. It was great seeing the various haunts where the Suffragettes had frequented around Newcastle city centre. It was also a bonus to get a bit of fitness in walking - always a win!

I found this tour while googling, looking for something ‘different’ to do, and it did not disappoint. Helen conducted the tour with enthusiasm, a vast amount of knowledge and professionalism. Never mind all the information she had on the Suffragette movement in Newcastle, Helen’s mind was also full of fun facts about the city and pointed out various bits of interest. Helen also does other tours locally (which I will be booking onto), and mentioned she is working on another couple of different tours in Newcastle, which when I see advertised I will be booking. Thank you for such an enjoyable, interesting and thought provoking hour and a half.

I attended a walking tour about the Suffragettes in Newcastle. From the moment the tour started, Helen was captivating in her story telling. It was informative but also dramatic, emotional and funny! I was impressed by her knowledge of the subject and she could answer every question the group had. The walk was a gentle stroll through town in the sunshine and just the right distance for a mixed ability group. As well as stopping at and pointing out buildings relevant to this tour, I also learned extra facts about sites I had never even noticed before! I would recommend these tours as an interesting and fun way to learn more about Newcastle.
