Riding on the electric cart is a great way to see the city. We had a nice night and the tour guy was well informed. However, he forgot his microphone so he had to use an old one. It was constantly crackling and giving out which made for a frustrating experience.

Reggie had his ongoing presentation down, but would mix up his years and then correct himself. Did this quite a bit. He also repeated himself numerous times. He also seemed to not like to be interrupted with questions during his presentation. And don't ask him any questions like how long have you been doing these tours. He seemed really bothered by that, which resulted in some negative vibes. And he didn't answer the question other than to say he gets asked that more than anybody else from the company. If true he needs to have a better prepared response, rather than turn off the customers. It seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder. At one point a car drove next to us to say they could barely see us from behind, as if the taillights weren't working. Reggie blew that off and wouldn't acknowledge that person that was trying to help. Isn't safety the number one priority, and he didn't care because it was interrupting his presentation? Overall not impressed with Reggie, but regardless of his lack of caring, it was still an OK event.

Tour guide claimed the battery went from 80% to 40% and proceeded to drop us off at a random location. He advised us that it was “easy to just take an uber back to the pick up location.” He claimed we would be reimbursed by the company for the uber ride back to the pick up location. When we exited the cart he stated he could be tipped through Venmo or Zelle. As we waited for the uber the tour guide and the cart ZOOMED passed us and clearly did not have a dead battery. WOW! As a way to be reimbursed for the uber, the tour guide traded phone numbers with us so we could send screenshots of the uber fee, after this exchange HE ALSO ASKED FOR A TIP 3 times thru text. What we found very odd was that multiple times we were asked “do you want to be dropped off near the White House, or come back to the pick up location after the tour?” Guess where the cart battery “died?” Near the White House. Very strange. Take a different tour!

We would highly recommend the nighttime cart tour. It was a great way to start our trip being very informative and helped to plan our next few days. We rode on two different carts due to the rain and both guides were very knowledgeable. It did rain on our tour so take gear and avoid the rear facing back seats as no way to keep feet dry.
