Fun Day, but the wine missed the mark

4.00Information about the tour is a little ambiguous as we assumed we would be visiting wine farms/wineries in Stellenbosch, however, this was the last place on the tour very late in the day and no winery was visited. It’s a university town and with only 40 mins to do a quick walk around was totally pointless. No famous Stellenbosch wines to be tasted or spoken about. I personally would have rather finished in Franschook which had more personality. We did had a wonderful group of people to spend the day with and our tour guide was informative and funny. As for quality of wines it was very disappointing. Fairview was at least interesting with a sommelier giving us information about the wine, but sadly the wines didnt live up to the hype. Same with La Bri, cute place and nice people but the wines were disappointing. In my view it would be better for this company to source a winery with more to offer. We have enjoyed many South African wines and I believe that for this price we expected better wines. I hope you will take on my comments and seriously look into a different offering as the company was great with communication, pick up etc., but the name of the game was wines and this didnt deliver.

5.00Nuno (I hope I have his name right) was an excellent guide. Keeping us entertained on the drives to and between wineries with both South African history and the South African wine industry. Great pairings (1 with cheese, and one with chocolate and the lunch stop was very tasty too).
