Tatev Monastery
To have an accurate idea of the culture, architecture and history of Armenia, a visit to the Tatev Monastery is one of the must-haves. St. Paul and Peter Church, built in 906, is considered one of the best structures of the time. The colossal church stands on the very edge of the gorge, at the edge of the abyss. One of the favourite places of Armenians once was a university, and a few centuries later, it even became a centre of the liberation movement, led by the greatest hero of the Armenian people, Garegin Nzhdeh.
The Wings of Tatev is the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway, stretching 5.7 km over the stunning Vorotan Gorge in southern Armenia. This 12-minute ride offers breathtaking views and connects travelers to the 9th-century Tatev Monastery. It’s not just a cable car—it's a journey through history and nature.

This is a wonderful monestary and well worth the visit. Given how far from Yerevan it is, my one suggestion would be that you cut out the second meal and the visit to the winery. Instead, just take people to Tatev and the Cave City and let them buy a snack so that they are back in Yerevan for dinner.

I really enjoyed the Wings of Tatev and the monastery. We did not go to waterfalls but went to caves. Caves were interesting. The food court we stopped for food twice is mediocre, although it is cheap. Trip is a really long bus ride, although this was not a surprise.

I want to express my gratitude for the wonderful tour! ❤️ We visited the Tatev Monastery, Hndzoresk, the observation deck Harsnadzor and the Arena Winery – each stop was unique, atmospheric and incredibly beautiful in its own way. Special thanks to our guide Asmik - she was very attentive, warm and professional. Asmik was so interesting and accessible that even the long road became an exciting part of the journey. I also want to thank our driver Gevorg for his professionalism and neat, calm driving. We rode the mountain roads and the serpentines with absolute confidence and safety, which added even more comfort to the whole tour. The trip was rich, organized, warm and memorable!

We went to very beautiful places however the van wasn’t the most comfortable for such a long trip and it would have been good to get some more time in Tatev Monastery. For me it personally wasn’t worth such a long trip from Yerevan I prefer to go to Geghard Monastery.

“Exceptional Service from Anna and Her Driver” Out of my five days in Yerevan, the day I spent with Anna and her driver was the absolute highlight. Anna was incredibly polite and respectful, always smiling and sharing fascinating stories and history about every place we visited—even during the drive. She constantly checked if we were okay, offered help, and even gave me great advice on finding halal food. Her driver was just as impressive—calm, respectful, and highly skilled. He drove through challenging mountain roads with full concentration and never took risks. As a driver myself, I noticed his sharp awareness and professionalism. He even opened doors for me every time, which I didn’t expect. They were both so courteous, never accepted food or drinks I offered, and brought their own. The car was a modern, spacious Mercedes, adding to the comfort of the day. I would absolutely book with them again and will recommend them to friends and family. Their professionalism and kindness made this day truly unforgettable.
