This was one of the best tours we have done in a long time. The Tour Operator is a very kind lady and she takes all of us to her brother’s wonderful and very cute noodle factory just outside Yokohama. The entire process of understanding how noodles are made and then later on enjoying the meal with family of Akiko is unique. Akiko takes you to her wonderful home for dinner and meet her family. There are nice touches to the entire experience and you come back contended and happy. The 4-5 hours you spend with the family during the tour are highly personalized and zip by fairly quickly. A little effort might have to be made to go from Tokyo to Yokohama and then a very small bus or train trip to reach the town where the noodle factory is located, however, believe us, it’ll be absolutely worth your time for an unrivaled experience that creates wonderful memories for life.

We thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. As ramen fans, we were excited to be able to see where noodles are made. We even learned new things about what goes into making a good ramen, especially the noodles from Taka, Akiko's brother. It was interesting to hear and see how the noodles are made, the varieties and be able to choose our own style of noodle at the end. We also learned how the family business got started in ramen noodle making. At Akiko's home, we learned how to make the ramen soup and gyoza from family recipes, which were fantastically delicious. Most factory tours are so impersonal, but we had such a wonderful time talking with Akiko and her family.

The ramen tour with Akiko was one of our highlights on our trip to Japan. We learned a lot about ramen. The tour started with her brother Taka in his ramen factory. It was a lot of fun to produce ramen with him according to our own wishes and to get insights into his family-run business. Afterwards we went to Akiko's home where we cooked Gyza and Ramen. It was a lot of fun and it was incredibly delicious to eat the delicious food with her husband. Akiko and her family were super hospitable to us and we enjoyed spending such a great personal evening with them. The great experience was rounded off by her cute dogs. Just playing with Teddy would be worth the price. I can only recommend this tour to anyone! Many thanks to Akiko, Taka and their family for this wonderful evening!

An extraordinary experience! Akiko-San was so kind and accommodating. She was able to translate everything into English. You were warmly welcomed right at the station and then went to Taka-San's factory. With the self-chosen noodles, Akiko-San made delicious ramen, gyoza and salad. It was a super cozy evening and an honor to be invited to a Japanese family's home. I highly recommend to every Japanese traveler. Arigatou Gozaimasu Akiko-San and Taka-San

My visit to Akiko-san’s ramen adventure was much more than just a culinary excursion – it was a personal, heartfelt and surprisingly educational experience. Right at the beginning we met the hostess' brother who invited us to his ramen factory. There he showed us the production rooms and explained step by step how real ramen noodles are made. You immediately noticed that not only noodles, but real craftsmanship and love for the product are created here. Afterwards we went to her home where we prepared a fantastic feast together. If you want to add another unforgettable experience to your trip to Japan, you won't go wrong with this adventure. A warm, educational experience that I remember positively.
