For the big water section (Rapids 1–7), 15+ is strongly recommended. • Fitness Level: Travelers should have a moderate level of fitness and be comfortable in water. • Health Restrictions: Not suitable for pregnant travelers, or those with heart conditions, back problems, or other serious medical issues,What to Bring: Swimwear, quick-dry clothing you don’t mind getting wet, sunscreen, secure footwear (water shoes or sandals with straps), and personal medication. • Confirmation: You will receive confirmation at the time of booking with final pickup details.

What To Expect

Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup in Livingstone or Victoria Falls, followed by a scenic drive to the edge of the Batoka Gorge. After a full safety briefing and getting fitted with helmets and life jackets, you’ll hike down into the gorge to meet your expert rafting guides. Once on the river, the real fun begins. Depending on your choice: • Big Water Thrill (Rapids 1–7): Start just below the Victoria Falls in the famous “boiling pot” and take on some of the Zambezi’s most powerful Grade IV–V rapids. Expect big waves, adrenaline-pumping drops, and a true once-in-a-lifetime rafting experience. • Family Adventure (Rapids 7–14): Paddle through fun but gentler rapids that are safe for kids aged 12 and above, with calmer stretches in between where you can admire the breathtaking cliffs and maybe spot wildlife along the riverbanks. At the end of your run, you’ll exit the gorge with the assistance of your crew and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Cold bottled water and light snacks will be provided, and then you’ll return to your hotel with free professional photos and videos of your trip, perfect for reliving the adventure.

The single most amazing experience. From the hotel pick-up to the end everything was beyond brilliant. King James was phenomenal. His captaincy of the raft was second to none. Safety briefing was done properly and not once did I feel unsafe - that said I also never felt that he tamed the experience. The exhilaration felt at every rapid was something that I wont forget. The safety Kayaker - Friday - was like watching an olympian in action. King James guided us safely through seven rapids and allowed us to swim at certain times when deemed safe to do so. The trip ended with a rock jump to top off what I would call a once in a lifetime experience. Nobody else that we saw out and about looked like they got the same authentic white water excursion that we did. And if it couldn't get any better - the photos and video supplied (included believe it or not in the price) were AMAZING. If you do anything whilst visiting Livingston or Victoria Falls make sure you cal HSM Adventures and request King James and his team.
