The main event of the tour is obviously Machu Picchu, which was stunning. It is a "must see /bucket list" destination despite the crowds. The tour was well organised, and our guide was informative, cheerful and enthusiastic. He did a great job. For me, the only downside was the hotel. For some reason, although I had paid for solo rooms for me and my travel companion, we had been allocated a shared room. The issue was eventually sorted at check in, but then I was given a cramped room with no external window. It did have a window facing out into a corridor in the hotel. The blind was totally inadequate and the lights in the corridor remained on all night, so my room was as light as day throughout the night. I had been given another room option but that was facing the train station, which would have been very noisy. The pavement outside the hotel doubles as the railway platform, so that was not a realistic alternative. In conclusion, the tour was great but the overnight accommodation was very disappointing.

What an incredible experience we had on our tour—book this one immediately! Our driver, Juan, and our guide, Luis were the best. Luis is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He told us so much fascinating information! He is also a great communicator and made sure we always knew what was going on. The tour itself is amazing. We got to see and learn so much about history and culture, and we even fed llamas! We are teachers and couldn’t get enough—Luis knows everything there is to know! And Machu Picchu was fantastic! The train ride was awesome, beautiful views and great service. Nice hotel and great food! Everything was so well-organized and ran smoothly from start to finish. This company is the best—we are already planning our return to see circuits 2 and 3!

Let me start with Juan Carlos was amazing. He was kind, patient and knowledgeable. This first day of this tour is more of a driver + guide. Sacred valley tickets and meals are NOT included. Without sacred valley tickets, you will miss most of day 1. We then took the train from Ollantaytambo. Peru Rail has issues. Our 90 min train ride took nearly 4.5 hours as we waited for another train to cross. The whole time the train smelled like diesel, I guess to keep the air running. Also the train had some loud spoiled American teenagers that were being loud and the staff refused to ask them to keep it down. We arrived at Aguas Caliente hotel by 7pm and were told pickup would be at 5:30am. Exhausted we went straight to bed. The hotel, Hotel Ferre, is nothing to write home about. Our room had gnats and mosquitos and the bathroom snelled. The bathroom had a window to the hallway and it was open, I guess to let out the humidity. So, you could hear everything out there. In the bedroom, you could also hear hallway chit chat. Book at least 4 months in advance if you want to get circuit 2. Our guide the next day was different, he was nice and a good photographer, but he seemed to have a cold which we now all have. I must say I’m a bit disappointed, that this, our most expensive tour seemed to be very a la carte. So what’s included: a driver, guides, train tickets (don’t bother with the upgraded tickets) , bus ticket up to Machu Picchu and entrance to MP. What is not included, tickets to Sacred Valley and meals.

The tour itself was great, our guide Gary was excellent. The problem with this tour is they book the cheapest hotel in Agua Calientes. The Ferre hotel was awful. Look at its reviews before you book. We had two rooms for four people, both which had broken restrooms. Maybe book the tour and your own hotel as there are many better options close by the train station.

I did this tour as a solo female traveler, and it was amazing! Fabrizio is so kind and knowledgeable. He always made me feel included and offered to take photos of me since I was alone! Everything was so well-organized and simple. Book this tour!!
