My husband and I booked an Overnight Desert Tour with Golden Desert Tour, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Nemalyn responded quickly and patiently answered all of my questions, which made the booking process smooth and reassuring. Our guide, Khalid, picked us up on time from our hotel and our journey began. He was kind, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the day. We visited the Bimmah Sinkhole, explored Wadi Shab, and then headed to the desert for an unforgettable overnight stay at Al Salam Camp. The camp was great we watched a beautiful sunset and woke up to a peaceful sunrise. Overall, our trip was truly amazing. Highly recommend Khalid and Golden Desert Tour!

We recently embarked on a two-day guided tour through the heart of Oman, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From tranquil wadis and golden deserts to coastal drives and wildlife encounters, every moment was a sensory delight. Wadi Bani Khalid – A Desert Oasis of Calm Our first destination was Wadi Bani Khalid, a lush valley tucked into the arid mountains of eastern Oman. The contrast was striking—crystal-clear turquoise pools surrounded by date palms and rugged cliffs. We walked along shaded trails, watched fish dart through the water, and felt the cool breeze rustling through the palms. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply exist in nature’s embrace. Bidayun House – A Glimpse into Omani Heritage Next, we visited the Bidayun House, a charming traditional home that offered a warm welcome and a window into local culture. The architecture was simple yet elegant, with carved wooden doors, clay walls, and woven mats. We learned about family customs, tasted local snacks, and appreciated the quiet dignity of rural life. It was a moment of connection—intimate and authentic. Desert Sunset, Campfire & Stargazing – A Night to Remember As the day faded, we ventured into the desert. The drive itself was mesmerizing—waves of golden sand stretching endlessly, punctuated by the occasional camel silhouette. We arrived just in time for the sunset, and it was pure magic. The sky ignited in shades of orange, pink, and violet, casting long shadows across the dunes. Our overnight stay in the desert was nothing short of spectacular. The camp was cozy and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious—a flavorful spread of traditional Omani dishes served under the open sky. After dinner, we gathered around a bonfire, where locals performed traditional songs that echoed through the night air. The rhythm, the warmth, and the stories shared created a sense of community and joy. Later, we lay back on cushions and gazed at the star-filled sky, free from city lights. The Milky Way stretched overhead, and shooting stars occasionally streaked across the darkness. It was a humbling, awe-inspiring experience that made us feel deeply connected to the land. Sunrise in the Dunes – A Moment of Stillness We woke at 5 AM to witness the desert sunrise, and it was worth every yawn. The desert slowly came alive as the first light crept over the horizon, painting the sands in soft gold and amber. The air was crisp, the silence complete, and the experience deeply moving. Coastal Drive to Wadi Shab – Sea Meets Stone Our journey continued along a spectacular coastal road toward Wadi Shab. The drive was a highlight in itself—cliffs on one side, the Arabian Sea on the other, with waves crashing against rocky shores. Though we couldn’t explore Wadi Shab due to a leg injury, the views from the roadside were breathtaking. The sea shimmered in shades of blue and green, and the salty breeze added a refreshing touch to the journey. Gazelle Sighting – Grace in the Wild On the way, we were lucky to spot gazelles, protected and graceful creatures that roam freely in Oman’s wilderness. Their delicate movements and alert eyes added a touch of wild elegance to our journey, reminding us of the country’s rich biodiversity and conservation efforts. Fins Beach – A Missed Opportunity We attempted to visit Fins Beach, known for its white sands and turquoise waters, but it was closed. Still, the detour gave us more time to enjoy the coastal scenery and reflect on the beauty of the journey. Bimmah Sinkhole – Nature’s Surprise Our final stop was the Bimmah Sinkhole, a stunning natural crater filled with aquamarine water. The contrast between the rocky edges and the vibrant pool was striking. We spent time relaxing, taking photos, and marveling at how nature can surprise you in the most unexpected ways. It was the perfect end to our adventure. Our Guide – Said Al Aamri, who is also a registered tour guide with tourism department of Sultanate of Oman. A heartfelt thank you to our guide, Said, whose kindness, patience, and deep knowledge made this trip unforgettable. He navigated every twist and turn with ease, shared stories that brought each place to life, and ensured we were comfortable and cared for throughout. This tour was more than a sightseeing trip—it was a soulful journey through Oman’s landscapes, culture, and spirit. Whether you're a nature lover, a cultural explorer, or simply seeking peace, this experience offers it all. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to discover the true essence of Oman.
