What To Expect
A typical day at the Bryon Bay surf camp includes breakfast at 7am. Surf lessons start at either 9:30am or 12:30pm and operate for around 3 to 4 hours. Daily free activities can include bongo lessons, didgeridoo making, bush tucker walks and reiki workshops or just chill out by the pool or in the camp with your new friends. Lunch can be at any time during the day at the camp (at own expense). Meet for dinner at 6pm. After dinner, you can choose to spend the night at the brewery next door, chilling at the camp or head out and about in town. The camp is only a 5-minute walk to town or the beach. Facilities include internet access, cafe/shop, 2-nights shared tepee style accommodation, volleyball, chill out zones, cinema, brewery, laundry, kitchen, swimming pool, hammocks, free activities/workshops, surfboard hire and push bike hire

Good camp to learn surfing

4.00Overall it was a good experience with some space for improvement on some aspects. The instructors (especially Ruben) are very communicative and point out all the important steps when you learn how to surf. On the first day there were only 2 instructors but they still managed to give everyone individual feedback on how to improve which is very nice. On the second day there were 3 instructors so smaller groups and more tips and help. If you listen well to them you can learn the basics very fast. Big thanks to Ruben for the great mentorship and guiding us through the big waves. The photographer also did a great job! On the other hand I was a bit disappointed. I booked the surf camp with YHA Hostel, paying 300$ for 2 nights and 3 days of surfing. When I received the confirmation mail it said 2 nights and 2 days of surfing. I contacted both companies and they were both pointing their fingers at each other. Mojo changed their pricing starting from April 2024 but it is still March so a bit weird that I didn't get the old package. YHA explained that it was 2 days of surfing but 3 days of activities. There were no activities on the first day so I felt a bit betrayed. I understand that its YHA's responsibility to be aware of the package they are selling but Mojo should have communicated this with them as well. Overall a good experience even though I wouldn't do the surf camp again but just take the surf classes as the instructors are amazing.

5.00I booked the 4 day/4 night Surf Camp and had an incredible experience. The surf instrutor crew they have is amazing. I'm an intermediate surfer and I was pleasantly surpriced how they accommodated for me. Most of the campers are beginner surfers but they asked about my experience and was able to have an instructor work with me at my level rather than put me in with the beginner crew. All of the instructors were genuinly nice and just great people in general. Thomas and Conor were always at a high level of froth (stoke). Sophia was a great instructor that gave me a lot of great things to work on. Nat (sp?) was extremely accomodating on Chrismas Day and was able to lend me a board on Christmas Day when there were no Surf Camps that day. I had a blast at The Pass. I like their structure of teaching a lot. First day/first timers go in one group and get the basics. The first timers who've gone through the first day, then go into another group where they give additional, more advanced instruction. Great way to have people progress. I enjoyed that they took us to different locations each day to be able to try different spots. Highly recommended.

5.00Nat was a legend and a super chill local. Showed us the best spots to surf away from crowds. Also showed us some lookouts and gave us tips for things to see around town. Made the experience so memorable. We were two beginners that were able to ride plenty of waves. Deffo recommend Mojo!!

2.00The accommodation was awful, the food was great though. Surf lessons were pretty good however on the second day the teachers were very uninterested, I wouldn't book with them again

5.00Had the best time!! The instructors were very helpful and really took the time to help each one of us individually, always with a smile. I learned to surf and really developed my skills in just 2-3 days and had the best time ever! Tyler and Dave were the best instructors!! Also, the girl in the shop, was just incredible. Jey really out did herself to help us all our at once and always with a smile. She even called other Mojo shops to hunt down different shirts that were out of stock. A more helpful, happy and one who always does “the little extra” is hard to find. Mojo should be proud to have her in their team!

5.00I stayed 4 days/ nights in Byron Bay Mojo surf camp! The beach spot is beautiful to surf, not much people and perfect for beginners or to improve your skills! Teacher and crew was really nice and friendly! Had a great time !! Would go every time again

5.00My surf lesson with Mojosurf was amazing ! I had such a great time ! The team is very friendly, caring and understanding. The coaches explain very clearly and take the time it needs to show the basis of surfing in a kind manner. Time flew that afternoon. I enjoyed every bit of it. The accommodation was comfortable and really fit the Byron surfy vibe. Food was good and the staff really made me feel welcome. I highly recommend !

5.00Had a great time in Byron Bay surfing Lennox Head beach from the 29th Dec 2019 - 31 Dec 2019. Spent the most time under the instructors Dave & Bruno. These Guys along with every other instructors were fantastic. I felt safe the entire time, they took time out during each lesson to speak to us individually and ensure everyone could stand up on their own. The team were professional, made it fun, but also knew when to address things seriously. Thanks to Mojo surf Byron Bay
