What To Expect

DAY 1 - Meet and greet at the airport and drive for about 2.5hrs drive through rustic countryside studded with villages. Take a short boat transfer to Borneo Nature Lodge. Time for orientation, have lunch and check in. Relax by the river before embarking by boat up-river at 4:00 PM along Sabah's longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view wildlife and birds in its virgin rainforest habitat. Search for some of the primate's species including the endemic Proboscis Monkeys as they settle down on treetops. Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is on the best places in Southeast Asia to observe wildlife. Overnight at Borneo Nature Lodge. Meals Included: Lunch/ Dinner DAY 2 - Wake up to the calls of birds, insects and animals. At 6:00 AM take a morning cruise up to The Kinabatangan River and onto Kelenanap Ox-Bow Lake for bird watching and in search of other wildlife. Take a short jungle walk (if weather permits) and experience the wilderness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast. . Free at leisure to explore the surrounding areas or nearby village. In the late afternoon at 4:00 PM, boat cruise along the river to see many species of flora and fauna of the rainforest and overnight stay at Borneo Nature Lodge. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 3 - After breakfast, check out and transfer to Sandakan Airport for your departure flight. Meal Included: Breakfast

Rooms ok, air con provided. Bathrooms a little on tired side. Expeditions down the river amazing, great guides. Limited menu albeit very tasty. Limited WiFi but at least they had it! Staff were very approachable and helpful well done!
Fabulous lodge and environment, clean rooms and bedding and super close to the nature.

Wonderful Lodge, in the middle of the jungle/forest. Monkeys tap dancing on our cabin! Arrive by river taxi. Locals super kind and helpful. Meals are very much local cuisine - basic but very tasty. Room was lovely - again basic but offered clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom seen better days but shower was hot and did the job! Teen kids with us inc fussy eater - not great for them on the food front - but not the lodges fault (just take dried pasta packets if yours are the same!) tip - lots of bug spray …bitten ferociously by something different to any other bite! We loved it tho!

Amazing. Personalized guide on river and land adventures, who was so knowledgeable in birds and other wildlife. Accommodations are simple yet comfortable. Food was excellent. Love staff are helpful and welcoming.

Highly disadvise this tour/lodge: they are disrespectful to local wildlife and disregard the wellbeing of the wild animals! There are plenty of proper eco-friendly alternatives around. Do not book here!!
