Antelope Canyon X, located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, Arizona, is named after the Xs carved into the Navajo Sandstone created by millions of years of rainfall and wind. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon.
Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two.
Canyon X is a mixture of the characteristics of both the Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper’s feature of pillars of light and the Lower’s steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two and brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

This was a great tour overall. The guides were extremely helpful and shared useful tips for getting the best photos. The tour started and ended right on time, and you get about 1.5 hours in the slot canyon, which goes by quickly. Dress appropriately, as the canyon can feel cool at times. Hiking boots are not necessary, but a good pair of sneakers is important. I wore trail running shoes and they were perfect. There are no restrooms inside the slot canyon, so be sure to use the porta potties at the check-in area beforehand.

What an amazing and well worth 4 hour drive. We had some technical difficulties arriving but they very extremely accommodating and friendly. Tan was our guide and took the most amazing photos of our experience while also sharing great facts about the canyon.

Spectacular Scenery! The tour guide was polite, knowledgeable, and took spectacular photos! The hike itself was light and manageable for most people! We got the most amazing photographs of our entire week-and-a-half trip on this one hike alone! I highly recommend this tour to everyone!

The photo tour was great. Small group of just 4 of us. Our guide Van was the best. Many interesting stories about slot canyons as well as his heritage as a Navajo. Great pride in his family.

Beautiful. We felt a little rushed since it rained two days prior to our tour and was told they expected to have 2000 visitors that day between the two lower Antelope canyon tour companies.
