Antelope Canyon X, located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, Arizona, is named after the Xs carved into the Navajo Sandstone created by millions of years of rainfall and wind. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon.
Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two.
Canyon X is a mixture of the characteristics of both the Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper’s feature of pillars of light and the Lower’s steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two and brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

The description is very accurate. The staff were all very nice and informative. Our guide Thomas was awesome-fun, knowledgeable, and kind. He brought his drum (he made it from Mule deer hide) and played and sang about wishes for safe travels and positivity. It’s a steep, but short downhill walk to get to the slot canyons, but you do have to go back up. I believe special assistance can be arranged, if needed.

This tour was great, limited to 10 people per group, so not crowded and able to get some really great pictures! My kids are 10 and 12 and had no problem with this hike. Guide was knowledgeable and helpful with photos.

This was a great tour overall. The guides were extremely helpful and shared useful tips for getting the best photos. The tour started and ended right on time, and you get about 1.5 hours in the slot canyon, which goes by quickly. Dress appropriately, as the canyon can feel cool at times. Hiking boots are not necessary, but a good pair of sneakers is important. I wore trail running shoes and they were perfect. There are no restrooms inside the slot canyon, so be sure to use the porta potties at the check-in area beforehand.

What an amazing and well worth 4 hour drive. We had some technical difficulties arriving but they very extremely accommodating and friendly. Tan was our guide and took the most amazing photos of our experience while also sharing great facts about the canyon.
