5.00I had the chance to discover Maggie and Odonas’ farm during a special presentation to a group of French influencers – and what an authentic and unforgettable experience it was. The visit begins with a tour of their farm, where these pioneers have been cultivating prickly pears for years. Each fruit tells a story, and every tree reflects their patient, nature-respectful know-how. A First Taste of Hospitality Under the shade of a centuries-old olive tree, you’ll enjoy a glass of tsipouro – their handcrafted spirit made from figs. Then, it’s time to put on your apron! With Maggie’s warm guidance, you’ll cook together traditional Greek dishes blending figs and fresh vegetables from the garden. The meal is then shared around a large, convivial table overlooking the fig trees. You visit, you learn, you taste, you share… This is the true Kefalonia, far from tourist clichés. With over 30 years of experience in hospitality and tourism, I can say without hesitation that this is a rare and memorable moment – a must-do for curious and food-loving travelers.

5.00If you are a foodie and interested in traditional Greek cuisine, this is a non-negotiable activity to participate in with family and friends. Maggie was incredibly hospitable and welcoming, showing us around her beautiful prickly pear farm and catering to our needs to ensure the experience was tailored to us and our interests. The food was incredible and all accompaniments (wine, spirits and snacks) topped everything off perfectly. There are not many farms that are open to the public in Kefalonia so this is definitely a unique experience with a beautiful setting. We cannot wait to return soon.
