We had a small group of just 4 of us which worked out nicely, and comfortable in a van. The guide was very outgoing, accommodating and knowledgeable in the history of the area.

The scenery was fantastic and we really enjoyed the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Our guide, Jack, provided a lot of info and did a great job. The tour did cut it closer to "all aboard" ship time than I am comfortable with, but we made it.

The Cape Breton area is a must see while visiting Nova Scotia. It is quite a long drive from the cruise port, but the driver breaks up the trip in both directions. We took a regular sized mini van. At first, the operator tried to squeeze 6 full sized adults into the van (with 3 in the back seat) As a group, we collectively refused with this seating arrangement and he was able to reconfigure groups and we ended up with 5 which was comfortable for all. The scenery is beautiful although we were a few weeks early for peak fall colors. I would highly recommend going as close to mid October as possible. Our driver was knowledgable and informative. We enjoyed the tour.

This experience could have gone much better if it had been organized properly. First of all we were supposed to begin at 10am however we left at 11am on a bus that had dirty windows thus preventing any good photos to be taken from the trip while on the road. At the pick up point no-one was there with any type of identification or signage to properly assist travelers. I had to ask anybody around before finding a guy with a pad scribbling on it, he seemed lost in space. The guide offered very little historical information and fell short of providing a good schedule our stops. We were only able to visit the Alexander G. Bell museum for 25 mins. Hardly enough to see anything. Instead we made unnecessary stops which set us back in time. Very unfortunate but preventable. We expect a refund.

The tour was okay in that we saw most of what was in the itinerary. Enjoyed the scenic stops on the Cabot Trail and our visit to the Bell Museum. However, we only had 1 hour in Baddock (at the Museum) when the itinerary indicated 2 hours. We did not get to spend any time in town. Additionally, we were dropped at the bottom of the hill for the Museum & were instructed to call the driver for pickup, at the bottom of the hill (the walk altogether took 15-20 minutes). The vehicle was small for 6 adults; it should be a max of 5. There were 3 adults (normal sized) in the back seat and it was not comfortable. The van itself was noisy; when the driver/guide spoke, it was difficult to hear him. We had to ask him to repeat himself and to speak louder. A mic would definitely be a benefit. Finally, the tour description indicated a bottle of water was included, but it was not.
