Bosphorus Strait
The Bosphorus, Ox-ford in English, runs for about twenty miles, at times like a river, at times as if a land-enclosed lake; then, before joining the Black Sea, it becomes a rocky, wild channel. The Bosphorus breathes calmly and regularly, and the flow of caiques echoes the rhythm with their slow splashes. Not only does the Bosphorus electrify the traveler by its light, but it also intoxicates him by the white incandescence of the sun on its bosom with blue sky pouring into it. It runs through the city of Istanbul, splitting it into two halves the city built on seven hills and described by one of her early foreign lovers, Julia Pardoe: Its clear calm sky, its glittering sea, its amphitheater of thickly-peopled hills, its geographical position, its political importance and above all, its surprising novelty, tend to make every day in that gorgeous scene, and under that sunny sky, a season of intense enjoyment.
Dolmabahce Palace
Until the 17th century, the area where t the palace is today was one of the bays along the Bosphorus the legendary sailing vessel, ARGOS on which the Argonauts set off to find the Golden Fleece, anchored here.

We had such an incredible time on our yacht tour along the Bosphorus in Turkey! Cruising the water with breathtaking views on both the European and Asian sides of Istanbul was unforgettable. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, pointing out landmarks, hidden gems, and fascinating stories along the way that really brought the city to life. One of the highlights was crossing over to the Asian side, where we got to explore and taste the most delicious local yogurt—it was such a unique and authentic experience. On board, they treated us to traditional Turkish coffee, tasty snacks, and some of the best nuts we’ve ever had, which made the ride even more special. This tour is the perfect mix of relaxation, sightseeing, and cultural immersion. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul—you’ll see the city from a whole new perspective and enjoy a truly memorable day on the water!

The cruise on the Bosporus was very nice; it was interesting to see more than just the city of Istanbul. The stop on the Asian side was too short to really see anything. After we had purchased an ice cream/yogurt, it was time to go straight back to the boat.

We should have done this earlier in our stay in Istambul because it provided a great overview of the city and customs. The guide's content was very interesting and the hospitality (Turkish Tea, Coffee, & treats) added to the experience. The smaller size of group allowed for a more relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend for first time visitors to Istambul.
