To reach the temple, visitors must descend 108 steps, and as they do, they are greeted by a breathtaking view of the sea. Haedong Yonggungsa is especially famous as a prime spot to watch the sunrise, with many visitors arriving early in the morning to witness the spectacular scene of the sun rising over the East Sea, casting its golden light over the temple.
