What To Expect

We will make candy canes from scratch. Our candy makers will demonstrate the mixing of the ingredients, adding stripes, pulling on a hook. Once the candy cools down enough to touch, participants will shape their candy canes. Approx. six to eight candy canes per participant. Make candy canes from scratch. The process starts with mixing the ingredients in a pot and cooking to high temperatures. The candy maker will form the log, add striped and pull the candy on our candy hook. Once the mixture cools, guests will shape their candy canes. Each guest will make six to 8 canes and can form them into traditional canes or other fun shapes. It is a rare chance to taste a freshly made, warm candy cane.

Sweet Pete’s is always perfectly and meticulously decorated, and the staff is very friendly. We have taken 2 classes now, and this was like the other- a staff member did the work and we decorated (or in this case made the shape of the candy canes). Nonetheless, it has always been worth the money. However, I am removing a star because we weren’t on their list despite purchasing tickets at least 2 months in advance. I had to tell the woman at the check-in counter twice that we purchased through Viator (even showing her our tickets) rather than Groupon, twice. She then called someone for help and the other woman sounded very annoyed and didn’t want to let us in the class, but I was able to prove that we pre-paid, so she let us in. Hopefully this was a one-time problem. I’m chalking it up to the busyness of the holidays.

A great experience for only $15! Instructor Pete was very informative ask him anything about candy! I only wish the class maybe included tools/molds to help form our candy canes everything is free hand. After the class the store is beautiful to browse & shop.

Sweet Pete's is like Christmas Heaven. So nice to see an old historical building preserved is such a way. All the staff is welcoming. MR. D was so fun and such a nice man for our Candy Cane making class. I arrived early, and he made me feel right at home.
