This is a private tour with a 7-seater van for a maximum 6 guests. Will pick up from Souda port or hotels near Chania west coast.
Chania’s Old Town is being inhabited since the ancient ages of the Minoan Civilization from 5000BC. Since then it has always been a vivid place of prosperity and growth, influenced through the ages by the various cultures, Romans, Arabs, Jews, Venetians and Ottoman Turks. We will stroll through the historic alleys and see the Byzantine and the Venetian/Ottoman Walls and Fortifications, then walk through the main streets and see the emergence of history from the archeological excavations of the Minoan era to the Medieval and Recent Ages through the old buildings, the churches, the synagogues and the mosques. Also we will visit the Orthodox, the Muslim and the Jewish Quarter and explore how people lived together through times with peace or turbulence. Optionally we could have lunch in a local restaurant after the end of the tour.

5.00We had a great tour with Petros. He picked us up from our cruise port and very nice and friendly. We had rain while we were there, but Petros knew how to make the best of our day without getting very damp. Chania was a charming town to visit. We enjoyed the Shops that he gave us time to shop in, and he offered to take photos of all our memorable stops.

5.00George was very well prepared. He even helped us to out excellent parking and very detailed directions from the beginning. He did a superb tour with so much knowledge. We stepped into so many places where he introduced us to the intrinsically of Chania… without a good guide like him you would walk by and think it is a store :). One time it was an old church that became a mosque and had graves with glas covers under it… super cool. He ended with us at a secret spot out of the way (really weird looking at the beginning) which became the most amazing view point. Thank you George !

5.00This company is two brothers who operate the tours. Our guide/driver was George, we met his brother Peter as you will be told to look for the VERY tall guy. Both brothers are extremely personable, professional with excellent English. Peter played Basketball in the USA and George has an international hospitality/hotel background. They are both native Cretans. I say this to provide context for the level of service and experiences over and above the standard listed in the description. Communication was prompt, the meeting place was easy, George is a history buff and takes the time to include the islands history in the tour experience. I would highly recommend this tour for your Chania visit. Great flexibility, early start time to get you ahead of the other cruise passengers/groups. Definitely a five star experience from this provider!! Thanks for a great day!!
