  Amazing way to see Rome especially in the Summer. Our guide, Giuseppe, knew his history so well and provided so much context. We weren't obligated to get out and walk so made it back with plenty of time back on the boat. It was rushed but we only had six hours (four, if you account for the ride from Civitavecchia!)

  Our private tour from Civitavecchia to Rome with Shore Tours of Italy was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly, on time, and completely stress-free — exactly what you hope for during a cruise stop. Our driver and guide for the day, Federico, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, easy to work with, and kept us perfectly on schedule while still giving us time to truly enjoy each site. His expert driving and calm presence made navigating Rome’s busy streets feel effortless. We were able to visit all the major highlights: the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Federico even took us to a great local spot for gelato, which was a fun and refreshing bonus! The drive into Rome was beautiful, and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Special thanks again to Monica, who helped us plan every detail ahead of time. She customized our itinerary to fit what we wanted to see and made the entire process easy and enjoyable. We had zero issues throughout the day and felt truly taken care of. I highly recommend Shore Tours of Italy for anyone looking to make the most of their time in Rome. It was an unforgettable experience!

• A little odd but effective

  The experience was a little odd. The guide took us to the back side of the Colosseum along a backroad for us to take pictures at a distance. He then took us to vendors that it felt like he had a partnership with in order for us to spend money with them (high pressure sales at a market, “special” coffee, and “at least two scoops” of gelato). All of these items took time off our tour so we didn’t get to see the Pantheon. He seemed annoyed that we ate inside the Vatican museum which made us run out of time to eat “street food.” But, he did show us some cool things we wouldn’t have known to ask about or see. And he got us back to the ship in time. The van was air conditioned. And he adjusted a pick up stop for us at the Vatican so we could avoid backtracking. All in all, just kind of odd but we did enjoy ourselves.

  This was a very good tour visiting the main highlights of Rome. Our guide was excellent. His name was Lorenzo - highly recommend! He was right on time at the ship, good driver, nice Mercedes van. There were 4 of us. We stopped to go inside the Colosseum. We also went to inside in the Pantheon. We saw Piazza Navona. We went to the Spanish steps and walked all along them. We stopped for a lovely lunch at a restaurant recommended by Lorenzo- excellent meal. We went to Saint Peter Square and walked all around. we did everything we wanted to do very, very happy with our day in Rome, Grazie Mille!

  We had a fantastic day in Rome thanks to our wonderful driver, Federico! The directions for meeting him off the ship were clear and easy to follow, which made for a smooth start to the day. Federico kept us on schedule and even coordinated with our Colosseum tour guide, making the whole experience seamless. As we drove through the city, he pointed out landmarks and shared interesting facts, giving us a great overview of Rome’s incredible history. He made sure we saw all the major highlights and even introduced us to a few hidden gems along the way. Federico’s friendly personality, great communication, and local insight made our day in Rome truly memorable.
