Dare to take one of the best hikes in the whole world. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is a 4-day, 3-night route along the paths traced by the Incas hundreds of years ago. During the nearly 40-kilometer journey, visitors will appreciate mountainous landscapes and jungles of beautiful vegetation. You will also tour the archaeological sites of Llactapata, Runkuracay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, Wiñayhuayna and, at the end, Machu Picchu, entering the ancient ‘Gate of the Sun’ as the Incas did. The tour includes everything: transportation, food (cooks), tour guide, camping equipment, tour guide, permission to travel the Inca Trail and entrance to Machu Picchu. The tourist should only concentrate on reaching the Inca wonder.

A day earlier we will gather the group to meet and make a briefing of what the Inca Trail will look like. On Day 1 we will pick you up from the door of your hotel in Cusco. Then we will board our tourist transport to the starting point of the hike, near the village of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Accompanied by the tour guide, we will advance the first section of the Inca Trail, which is a little difficult since it is on the ascent for approximately 13 kilometers. From the top we will appreciate the archaeological site of Llactapata. In our camp we will stop for a delicious lunch. Then we will continue the route until we stop at our first camp where we will have dinner and spend the night. The camps, chosen according to availability, are Ayapata, Wayllabamba, Llaqtapata or Llulluchapampa.

On the 3rd we will wake up early to taste our breakfast and get ready for the walk. Because it is almost totally on the descent (about 16 kilometers), it is one of the easiest days and surrounded by incredible landscapes of abundant vegetation. During the route we will visit the Inca archaeological site of Sayacmarca. We can also visit the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, depending on the availability of time. Then we will continue with the route until we stop for lunch. Then we will continue with the walk until we arrive at our designated camp for that day where dinner will already be served. The camps available for that day are: Phuyupatamarca, Wiñayhuayna or Ruins Bridge.

On the last day we will get up early to have a nutritious box lunch as we must start descending very early. Thus, we will reach Machu Picchu through the Puerta del Sol. Hopefully we can see the sunrise in the Inca city, one of the best experiences you can have.
Machu Picchu
We will descend to the Machu Picchu archaeological site in the company of our tour guide who will explain every detail of the famous citadel. After getting to know every corner of Machu Picchu we will leave the archaeological site to take one of the buses that will take us to the village of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village) where we will enjoy lunch (not included in tour) and have free time to shop or know the place better. Finally, at the scheduled time, we will board our tourist train to head to the town of Ollantaytambo and then by tourist transport to the city of Cusco where the tour ends.

Beautiful experience. Thanks to Luis for his passion and expertise in telling us about the Inca, Peruvian culture and nature that surrounded us. He was also very nice and considerate towards us. A warm and heartfelt thanks to the whole team of porters. Congratulations to the chef for the imagination and quality of the dishes. Greetings from Gianna, Michele and Giacomo!

A unique and unforgettable experience thanks to the team that accompanied us. Starting with our guide Henry, followed by the cook Juan de Dios who prepared delicious and different dishes every day, and with magnificent porters. They were instrumental in making the 4-day Inca Trail an incredible adventure. Thank you all and keep going

Excellent experience on the classic Inca Trail (4 days/3 nights) with Machu Picchu Terra. We hired the private tour for a group of 4 people and the result has exceeded our expectations. Fredi has been an extraordinary guide and the whole team (cook, porters) has given us an unforgettable experience. Perfect combination of trekking, culture, archaeology, nature and landscape. And a serious, professional and attentive service to our needs. Fully recommended.

The experience was wonderful and very hard but it was worth the effort when we arrived at Machu Picchu. It's definitely my favorite wonder of the world. This experience would not have been possible without the help of our guide Luis Hernandez from Machu Picchu Terra. Your patience help is remarkable. We almost abandoned the experience twice and he had the patience and the right words to move forward. Besides their explanations and knowledge from whom we learned a lot. Special mention should be made of the team of porters who make a great effort and work to be able to give us the necessary support by carrying all the equipment to camp and receive us with breakfast lunch snack and dinner. We highlight the delicious food cook Fabian prepared for us and the rich farewell cake. We are extremely grateful to the whole team and especially to Luis.
