Fewer People - More Wildlife!
The Clearwater Family Farm is home to more wildlife per square meter than anywhere in Dunedin.

Our experience with Kelly included great education regarding the old and new Dunedin and all of the wildlife we saw. Our travels to the private farm and beach was so fun. We saw fur seals, sea lions and yellow eyed penguins along with black swans, albatrosses, oystercatchers and many sheep! Highly recommend!

Overall the experience was good. The tour guided provided information and it was a fun walk down to the beach to see the penguins at a distance along with sea lions. But the walk to the beach is tough - not moderate. My travel friend couldn’t go see the penguins due to stairs. If you have mobility issues, check with the tour company first.

Excellent!!! One of the best tour that I’ve ever been on!!! Our driver/guide, Sian?? knows her stuff! She gave an excellent presentation on the wildlife, making sure safety was number one priority, and the wildlife animals were safe. It was so cool to see the New Zealand sea lion at a safe distance, and see the New Zealand fur seals playing in the tide pools. Even though we weren’t able to see the yellow-eyed penguin, in the open, only in his nest, was still an awesome experience!

This was absolutely amazing. So much more than we expected. In fact, we would give it one of the best tours we’ve done for the last 2 months of our travels. Paula, our guide, we exceptional. Do NOT miss this tour!!

What an unforgettable privilege seeing amazing yellow eyed penguins waddling on grassy banks, fur seals scrambling around on rocks below and a pride of sea lions basking, lazily in the sun while watching some large males engage in some grunting and posturing, before they mutually agreed to cuddle up and get back to slumbering. Strategically located hides allowed us to view nature happening without disturbance or intrusion. Tom, our guide, was friendly and very knowledgeable answering any questions. Also he demonstrated good driving skills on the winding narrow roads and across the undulating countryside. Considering what we got to see, the small group and personalised approach, I thought the tour represented excellent value. Also must say the breathtakingly beautiful scenery which is abundant on Otago peninsula provided an idyllic backdrop to top off a very exciting and memorable day.
