Crowfoot Glacier
Crowfoot Glacier Viewpoint is one of the most scenic stops on the Icefields Parkway, located near Bow Lake. Once shaped like a crow’s foot with three distinct toes, the glacier has partially receded over time, but it still creates a dramatic backdrop against the rugged peaks of the Wapta Icefield. The viewpoint is easily accessible with roadside parking, making it a perfect stop to stretch, capture photos, and admire the turquoise waters of Bow Lake shimmering below. On a clear day, the panoramic views here perfectly showcase the raw beauty of the Canadian Rockies.
Bow Lake
Bow Lake, located along the Icefields Parkway, is one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Banff National Park. Fed by meltwater from Bow Glacier, its brilliant turquoise color makes it a perfect photo stop. The lake sits at the base of Crowfoot Mountain and Bow Glacier Falls, offering breathtaking scenery in every direction. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful lakeside stroll, a picnic by the shore, or simply relax and take in the reflections of the surrounding peaks. It’s also a great spot to stretch your legs on the way to the Columbia Icefield.
