Our guide was very good and the tasting activities were very appreciated by us. As for the boat on the Douro it was good but a little fresh for the season. I would have liked even more if the heat was there.

This was a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend. We got to explore intimate family-owned wineries and witness the gorgeous and steep (!) terrain where the grapes are grown and harvested. The tour guide was a blast and could answer every question. A must do!

The drive into Douro had a bit more traffic than expected in Porto which put us about 30 minutes behind but our driver did all he could without driving aggressively. He was very knowledgeable about the entire area. The boat ride was one of the most unique views of any trip. The grape leaves changing fall colors were absolutely stunning, along with the history of the area. There was more port and food than could be eatten! The drive in to Douro was also a bit mountainous bit the drive back pretty straight shot.

Because it's a very interesting and knowledgeable tour. We all need to se what is this world of wine and port in Portugal. I am a well travelled person but I regret not having it done before.

My friend and I had a wonderful time exploring the wine region. We didn’t have to lift a finger as we were picked up right at our hotel in a comfortable van. Our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable about Portugal as he lived there his whole life and was eager to share his culture. The wineries were beautiful and the staff were nice and knowledgeable. We learned so much about port wine. The lunch was included and it truly was an authentic Portuguese meal. The boat tour was a great way to see the river and the land. We were lucky to see it in full fall color! Definitely recommend this tour!

Philip was a knowledgeable, funny, and effective guide. We went at the very end of October and although there was a chance of rain, the fall colors were beautiful. I definitely prefer taking a chance on the rainy season than going in the heat of the summer (where the valley is over 100 degrees every day) and with so many other tourists. We really enjoyed the different vineyards and wine tastings. The lunch was also fantastic. I'd highly recommend this tour, especially if Philip is the guide. The boat tour was fun and pretty, but I wasn't able to download the app with my spotty service, so I can't say how anything about how that part of the tour was. Maybe download the app/guide while connected to wifi.
