Good for avoiding crowds, we guide small groups that give you a more local immersion personalized experience. The quality of our guides, wines and the wineries visited stand out from other tours.
The tour begins with a visit to a port wine producer: Quinta da Roêda. There will be a personalized guided tour on the vineyards where the process of making the port wine will be explained. The wine tasting will be accompanied by a careful selection of Portuguese cheeses.
After tasting, we will embark 1 hour boat ride where the calm of the river will inspire us. This soothing ride is the best time to contemplate the landscape and nature of the Douro Valley.
Lunch is served in a beautiful farm overlooking to the vineyards where there are several food options: fish, meat or vegetarian. Everything are included in the price.
The second winery is a small table wine producer, It will be an interesting opportunity to have more contact with the locals. The visit ends with an olive oil tasting.

Our guide (Dias) was very friendly and knowledgeable. The whole day was a very slick operation . Wine tasting started at 10am so you might like to eat breakfast before you go. In terms of weather, be prepared for a cold start to the day and a hot finish. Lunch was not a small group experience and felt like rushed mass catering.

Our driver Marcelo was wonderful, we were traveling with a toddler and he helped us with him while we were eating and was very knowledgeable about the region. Would definitely recommend Marcelo and the wine tours.

Good itinerary for a one day trip to the Douro Wine Valley. I think the “small group” marketing is a bit misleading. Effectively there are multiple groups of 8 in minivans at the same time/venue. 8 strangers in the minivan is quite intimate for sure. The guide was fine, but a little more focused on sharing his views & thoughts than was warranted. In addition, while I am all for a quick commute, his driving was a bit too “casual”. Drivers Ed 101: Both hands on the wheel & eyes should be on the road at all times. I thought I might have participated in an F1 race on the way back to Porto.

This is a great way to see the Douro valley. We especially enjoyed the first winery - it was very private and so beautiful. The wines were excellent and organic. The lunch was also very good at the next winery. The boat ride had beautiful scenery and was very relaxing. Joao did a great job leading the tour and providing interesting information throughout the day.
