What To Expect
Learn how to make the iconic Pastel de Nata in a cozy, hands-on cooking workshop in the heart of Porto, near Sé do Porto, guided by instructors with years of experience in Portuguese pastry. During the workshop, participants take turns actively participating in the recipe, following a clear step-by-step process under the guidance of the instructor. Participation in the preparation is shared among the group. For full, individual participation in all stages, please ask about our private workshop option. The class focuses on preparing the custard filling and baking process. The puff pastry is pre-prepared, and you’ll receive a house-made recipe to recreate it at home. The session includes a short introduction to the history of the Pastel de Nata in Portugal. Each participant will prepare several Pastel de Nata, which can be enjoyed on site or taken away. A transport box is included. Throughout the workshop, enjoy Port wine, juice, water, coffee, and a selection of sweet and savory snacks in a relaxed atmosphere. At the end of the session, you’ll leave with the confidence and recipe to recreate this Portuguese classic at home.

5.00We had the best time! This was such a fun class and the instructors are the *very nicest* people EVER! Not only did they do an amazing job teaching us how to make the pastries, but they also helped us communicate with a local on a lost item left in an Uber - we would not have gotten it back without their very kind and persistent help. The class was well organized and the space, while simple, was very clean and easy to work in. They broke down the steps in a way that everyone was able to participate and be a part of the fun. The end results of the baking was delicious! Along the way they were great about telling us some short stories about the local culture and food. They treated us like a local longtime friend and made us feel so welcome. We would absolutely recommend this experience and know you will have an equally amazing time! We would do this again just to make and eat more and visit longer!

5.00I was so lucky to have Ana and Luis as my instructions they were both so knowledgeable and helpful in the process of making the Pastel de nata! This requires now experience but they make you feel like an expert! Truly amazing the energy was just so powerful! I cannot believe how amazing this whole experience was!

5.00This was such a great experience! We opted to go somewhat last minute as a way to do something cool out of the expected rain. There were 12 of us in a class taking turns assisting with the steps. Even if you weren't involved directly in one of the steps it was easy enough (and encouraged) to get up close to the action. We had a last minute request to change the location and it worked out for the best, the two locations are close enough to each other that it wasn't a big deal; I'm glad we trusted the advice to switch to the larger class room. Felipe was an awesome instructor and everyone's tarts turned out great. We received great, detailed instructions on how to make them at home and we look forward to doing so! Highly recommend for a couple of good hours learning something new.

5.00Such an awesome experience! A must-do if you visit Porto and/or Portugal. The instructors were funny and friendly and extremely easy to follow. They also provided interesting history about Pastel De Natas, and were very entertaining.
