We did the albatross tour with a guide named Kym. Ut was a private tour and he was brilliant. My wife is disabled and he looked after us well and gave a great history of the island itself. My son enjoyed it and definitely recommended Kym. It was a great day out.

Asta was an excellent & informative guide. Since it was only the two of us who signed up for that day, it ended up being a private tour. Asta was friendly & showed us around scenic areas of Dunedin that we hadn't heard of in the usual guidebooks. We saw a few chicks at the Albatross Centre and enjoyed the drive along the coast and talking to her about life in that part of New Zealand.

  • A great natural science visit.

I took myself & a child. The information given by the tour guide was excellent . We saw at least 6 chicks about 2 months old, but no adult albatrosses flew in while we were there. Plenty of binoculars provided & shared 1:2. I do a return visit most times I go to Dunedin. Always excellent.

Wow, what a great tour experience. Astra was wonderful to work with in organizing a private tour for our group. Then in our group’s opinion, Teresa knocked it out of the park with the tour she provided. Her love and knowledge of Dunedin was contagious. We had an incredibly fun day and will always have very fond memories of Dunedin thanks to Fantail Tours. Highly recommend!

A local guide full of information! We covered a lot of ground, but seeing the nesting albatross was the highlight.

Wow, wow, wow! What a great tour. Theresa was absolutely amazing! Such a wealth of knowledge! She took us everywhere! We went to the botanical garden, the train station, the steepest street in the world, Otago university, Pukekara headlands, and the Royal Albatross colony. She gave us so much information and we had a really delightful day with her. Outstanding tour guide and outstanding tour! Thank you, Thank you! We even got to see a little blue penguin when we got back to our ship. A great day!

While we took this tour primarily to see the albatross, we were thrilled to learn so much about the history and culture of Dunedin from our excellent guide, Asta. She customized the itinerary to our group's interests and was an excellent problem-solver when necessary.

Scott is a local and knows his city! We saw great view points, historic buildings and nature. Scott was very knowledgeable and drove us safely up and down the steep hills of Dunedin. I felt very welcomed and I had just an amazing tour! Thanks Scott!!
