Travel through mountain tunnels and stunning fjords on this half-day shore excursion tour to Dynjandi waterfall.
Starting from the port at Ísafjörður, this tour´s main highlight in Dynjandi waterfall, one of Iceland´s most famous waterfalls. It´s truly a must when visiting the west fjords. It is often said to resemble a bridal veil, tapering to its widest at 60 meters at the bottom.
Continuing the wedding theme, sample Hjónabandssæla cake, a traditional cake during your stop at Gemlufell, a tradional working farm. This oat and rhubarb jam creation translate as wedded bliss in English.

Dynjandi waterfall is one of Iceland´s highest and most beautiful waterfalls. Comprised of several converging falls, the water drops off many ledges to its widest point at the bottom. Driving time from Isafjorður to Dynjandi is about 40 minutes, with beautiful and pristine landscapes to be enjoyed en routeþ Dynjandi has really captured the imagination of travellers to Iceland in recent years.
Thingeyri
We stop at Gemlufell Farm, nearby Þingeyri. This working Icelandic Farm sits in a peaceful and idyllic landscape with mountains to the north and the fjord to the south. See the farmyard animals and enjoy coffee, tea and traditional Icelandic Cake, all included in the tour price. After about an hour spent here, we journey back the 40 minutes to Isafjordur, through fjords and mountain tunnels.

Bryn and Tom were the best tour guides! The views at the falls were amazing and my kids loved the farm tour.

This was a great tour. Our guide (I think her name was Heidi) did a good job pointing things out and telling us all about Iceland. The weather was perfect the day we went; didn’t even need my jacket. I didn’t walk very far up the trail to the falls, due to a knee issue, but I heard that it got rougher and slipperier as the trail went up. But you can see the falls just fine from the bottom and there are a couple of other smaller falls and several other paved trails you can walk around. It’s a beautiful area! The time at the farm was pleasant and the rhubarb bars were tasty! We stopped at the farm first and there is a bathroom there that you can use either no line, as opposed to longer lines at the falls. All in all, a very good day.

The falls were spectacular but the farm visit was disappointing. It just seemed to be a stop arranged by the tour company and the farm owners to get people to their place to shop for souvenirs. More interaction with them showing what they do and how they live would have been nice. We did enjoy a brief conversation with the 5th grade young man.

Our tour guide was so delightful and knowledgeable! She provided great information every place we went. There was enough time at the waterfall to climb to the top (and rest when you made it down!) and at the farm as well. The Icelandic happy marriage cake was delicious! A great excursion for our family :)
