My family of four (including teen boys ages 16 and 13) went on a Sunday morning tour with Aileen in early January. She met us near the train station and had taken care of the roundtrip tickets, and provided the right balance of knowledge on the subject of Dachau and the surrounding history without getting too long-winded as some tour guides can do. Also appreciated some of the in-between conversations on German culture, etc. Highly recommend this tour and Dachau is a must while visiting Munich.

Hein was an excellent guide. He dispassionately explained the history of Dachau, including some of the historical and economic context that allowed the rise of Nazism. The tour was very good, and I highly recommend it.

We had Jamie as our tour guide, and he was great! A very interesting and educational tour that was super easy - clearly expressed where to meet and brought us there and back smoothly.

Outstanding guide! Jamie was very knowledgeable and able to share the larger picture of concentration camps used by the Nazis and the logistics of genocide.

One of the best tours I’ve done in a while. Jamie was very accommodating and knowledgeable, answering all of my questions well and honestly. His background as a historian helped bring a lot of new perspectives to this tragedy for me. Highly recommended!

We could not be more grateful to have had James Buckley as our guide for Dachau. He has devoted 15 years of his career to exclusively touring Dachau and is not only an expert but extremely empathetic, including prioritizing meeting survivors. He made everyone in our group of 20 feel like he was our private guide. This is a must see- despite being unimaginably horrific- and having James made all the difference. He's a professional and a lovely human. Highest recommendation.

Our guide, Jamie, was very knowledgeable and thorough. He talked us through the transportation from Karlsplatz in Munich to the Dachau Memorial Site, making sure the group stayed together. At the Memorial, he explained the history of the Dachau camp from its beginning in 1933, to its liberation in 1945. Any questions the group had were answered in detail. As the first of the concentration camps to go into operation before WWII, it started as a camp for political rivals of the Nazi party, but became more of a prison camp for Jews as the war progressed. Knowing that tens of thousands of people died within those walls and fences brought the realities of the war into perspective. At the end of the tour, Jamie gave us time to explore the site on our own, read the signs, shop in the visitor center bookstore, and generally reflect on the whole experience. We were then guided back to the transportation to return to Munich. Overall this was an excellent tour, but I must warn that it was a very emotional experience, and for some it could be overwhelming. I saw a number of people weeping while inside the Memorial, so use discretion when deciding whether or not to take the tour. If you decide to go, it is an experience you will never forget. Thanks to Jamie for sharing your wealth of knowledge.

This trip by far exceeded our expectations. We thought a group of 20 would be "too many people" but at NO time did it seem big. The guide's English was perfect, so was his knowledge of Dachau's history. I strongly recommend this trip with no hesitation. Enough time to not feel rushed but not too long.
