This was a full day trip but worth every minute. Our first stop was at Harburg Castle, the 45 minute guided tour was perfect for this location. Then we were on to Rathenburg ob der Tauber. We were provided plenty of time to explore this incredible old town and have lunch on our own. This old Medieval Bavarian Town is a day I'll remember.

Both destinations we're lovely. I liked that the admission to Harburg was a guided tour. It finished with enough time to check the gift shop and use the bathroom. Rothenburg is adorable and fun to walk around, straight out of a story book. A sit down lunch in the shade was nice but took a little too long. I wish we had another hour there, but we did leave at 345 and the drive back was almost 3 hours. Our guide was nice and informative, but quiet and hard to hear and repetitive.

The castle was really interesting, except the tour went quite long there so we didn't get a lot of time in Rotenburg. Would have loved another hour there at least.

Hanna was an excellent and informative tour guide. I really enjoyed learning about the Bavarian culture and history as we were driving over to the Harburg Castle. My favorite part of this experience was strolling through the charming, quaint old town of Rothenburg and the German Christmas Museum.

Tour guide could have explained more about the history of the Castle before arrival and not push tickets to enter on you. Also the tour was cheaper if you bought tickets at the gate and not from the guide. He made it like he was the only option to get tickets to enter the Castle and stated to several people there is nothing to do if we didn't enter the tour. Also the worst was the three hours ride back to Munich in silence. He didn't give any feedback or any conversation on the way back. We have taken several day trips around Europe and I have to admit this was just ok...The tour guide can makes all the difference in your experience.
