Adrenaline seekers chasing Sintra’s wild side, with plenty of off-road 4WD adventure and unique, secret spots.
Get down and dirty exploring Sintra’s wild heart – with a cheeky side of culture and food. We’ve been exploring this crazy beautiful and mysterious mountain landscape since we could slip past mum’s watchful eyes. So trust us that to really know Sintra you have to go beyond the walls of its many palaces. That said, it would be rude to drive past the UNESCO World Heritage town and not share a saucy story or two before we dive into the forest.
Our restored ex-military vintage 4WDs look cool as hell but they’re also the best way to tackle the terrain in the wild, wild west. Our favourite unmarked secret trails will lead us to remote natural and built monuments that no other tourists ever reach. From untouched lakes to ancient hilltop convents, we’ll pull up at the coolest hidden gems and chase non-stop adventure in Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

In summer, feel the breeze whip your hair as we crawl and bounce along dirt tracks with the roof off. In the cooler months we keep the roof on, turn the music up (real loud) and splash through puddles of mud as we swerve past house-sized boulders, pine forests and giant ferns. After a damn good lunch at a cheap-and-cheerful village restaurant we’ll direct our 4×4 chariot for the coastline. Feel the sand beneath your feet and dive into the cool, salty sea (if you dare). Our secret beach is surrounded by incredible soaring cliffs. Before the day wraps up, we’ll head for the edge of the earth (or at least Europe) and snap a Polaroid memory.

We had an awesome time at the 4x4 offroad tour in Sintra. Our guide Ruben was amazing. He knew everything and even told us some personal stories as he's a local to Sintra. We could take our time everywhere, no set timing at any place which was also very relaxed. And the food was soooo good! The tour ends at Cascais, but as we were staying at Sintra Ruben drove us back, even to the front gate of our hotel. 100/10, amazing experience!

It was a brilliant experience by our guide, driver and companion. He gave us details and insights at the places we visited. The highlights were the amazing views, the private luncheon by locals and the way he made us feel that the tour was unique to us. You wont see the tourist sights like Pena Palace, but you get to see the real Sintra from the eyes of locals.

We went all around Sintra, taking in the beautiful views of all the palaces, castles, hills, beaches, and cliffs around the area. Nelson gave a detailed background on big sites and included small details about the region on why trees were brought in, history of cork trees, etc. His entertaining descriptions and great suggestions for what to do and when helped us really take in all the beauty in a relaxed but fun experience. Would highly recommend to others and friends.

If you want to explore the beauty of Sintra and the coastline with a lovely lunch along the way, then this is your tour. We had the pleasure of spending the day with Mario who shared the history of Sintra, toured us through the Quinta da Regaleira, brought us to a wonderful lunch, and then stopped at a local beach before off roading up to the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Last we stopped at Cabo de Raco, the westernmost point in Europe for beautiful views. All of this while driven around in a 1980s jeep. A unique experience with a wonderful guide. Highly recommend.

Book this EPIC tour. Mario was knowledgable and engaging as our tour guide. The history, beauty and taste of castles, coastline and cuisine made it well worth twice as much.

This trip was a last minute booking after spending a couple days exploring around Sintra and really wanting to get out on to the trails and to the coast. I had Rueben as a guide and he was amazing, shared a lot of information, was easy going, and great to get a long with. An experience I would definitely complete again or another tour by the company!

Had the best time on the Jeep tour. Got to meet new friends from all over the world, and they brought us to see the beautiful palaces and beaches. Highly recommend!

If you are thinking about booking this tour, don't hesitate, and do it. I was worried that my mom wasn't going to enjoy this tour because she is a bit more timid, but to my surprise, this was her favorite tour we have done in our 12 days of Europe. Ruben deserves all the high praise. He treated us just like family. He showed us all of the amazing spots and gave us all of the history of the areas we went to and then more. From going to the castle, driving down the roads, seeing the beach, enjoying the coast of the beach, stopping at the most western point of continental Europe, and much, much more. I cannot recommend this tour enough, and it is all thanks to Ruben. This was a tour of a lifetime.
